Efficacy and Safety of the New Defocus Spectacle Lens in Preventing Progression of Myopia

Myopia

The clinical effects of new technical spectacles with refractive correction function are mixed. A randomised trial is designed to compare the effects of new defocusing spectacle lenses and traditional aspheric spectacle lenses on myopia progression in Chinese children aged 6-14 years.

Beijing (Peking)---Myopia and Obesity Comorbidity Intervention (BMOCI)

ObesityMyopia

Based on the RE-AIM framework, this project intends to integrate the prevention and control measures of myopia and obesity, and establish a set of key suitable technical packages and guarantee systems for the "comorbidity-common-cause-common prevention" of myopia and obesity in children and adolescents. Hetongzhou District selected 24 intervention schools (about 20,000) and 12 control schools (about 10,000) to apply the application, integrate the resources of the "family-school-community-medical institution", and establish a comprehensive combination of myopia and obesity in children and adolescents In the prevention and control demonstration area, a one-year intervention study was conducted to evaluate the comprehensive intervention effect of myopia and obesity in children and adolescents in the demonstration area, and to promote it through the regional monitoring system in Beijing. This project is the first time to establish a district-level comprehensive prevention and control demonstration area for children and adolescents with myopia and obesity that can be promoted, including key appropriate technology packages and promotion and application strategies. Healthy Beijing 2030" plan laid the foundation.

Myopia Prevention Through Monitoring and Motivating Outdoor Activities With Smartwatches

MyopiaProgressive

The goal of this multi-center, randomized, parallel-controlled clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of outdoor activities monitoring and motivating by smartwatches to prevent myopia progression in children. The main question it aims to answer are: To evaluate the two-year change of spherical equivalent progression. To evaluate the change in axial length, the incidence of myopia, the time of outdoor activity, the choroid thickness, and blood flow through the two-year intervention. Participants will wear smartwatches and receive Mini Program outdoor activity reminders and motivations. The required outdoor activity time is 2 hours from Monday to Friday and more than 2 hours on weekends. The control group will only wear smartwatches for monitoring. Researchers will compare the control group and the intervention group to see if outdoor activities can protect myopia or not.

Safety and Effectiveness of CARE1.02 Spectacle Lens in Myopia Control

Myopia

China is a major country in myopia, with the highest number of teenagers suffering from myopia. Controlling the progression of myopia and the related complications caused by axial elongation have clinical significance and social value. Currently. There is a lack of researches on the impact of specially designed myopia control spectacle lens in adolescents aged 12 and above. Therefore, we plan to conduct a randomized controlled trial among myopia adolescents aged 12-17 in middle and high schools in Guangzhou, to test and verify the safety and effectiveness of CARE1.02 on myopia control compared with single-vision spectacle lens.

Naked Eye 3D Vision Training for the Prevention and Control of Myopia in Adolescents and Children...

Adolescents and ChildrenAxial Elongation2 more

The study used children aged 6-18 as subjects to evaluate the efficacy and safety of naked eye 3D vision training for the prevention and control of myopia in adolescents. A total of 250 subjects were recruited from Zhongshan Ophthalmology Center of Sun Yat-sen University, Shenzhen People's Hospital and Foshan Women's and Children's Hospital, with 1:1 as intervention group and control group. The study assumes that daily naked eye 3D vision training can effectively control the speed of axial elongation and the progression of myopia. The main indicators were the use of optical biometrics to detect the subjects' initial axial length and the axial length after 1 month, 3 months and 6 months of intervention. Secondary indicators were refraction, uncorrected visual acuity, best corrected visual acuity, choroidal thickness, and binocular vision.

Long Term Effects of Multifocal Orthokeratology on Corneal and Choroidal Structures in Healthy Subjects...

Myopia

Orthokeratology has the benefit for slowing down myopia progression and enabling unaided vision during the day. To investigate proposed possible changes of conventional and multifocal orthokeratology in the cornea and choroid this study will image both structures with high resolution optical coherence tomographs over a six month period. Findings will help to plan larger trials over a longer period of time in adults and teenagers.

Shanghai High Myopia Study

High MyopiaCataract2 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term visual outcome of the cataract surgery using a large-scale and comprehensive database of high myopic cataract and age-related cataract patients. The investigators will further investigate into the various genetic and environmental factors that may contribute to the pathogenesis of high myopic cataract.
