Risk Factors for Postoperative Nausea, Vomiting and Pruritus
Postoperative Nausea and VomitingIn this study we would like to identify demographic and individual risk factors that place parturients at a higher risk for postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and itching following administered neuraxial morphine for cesarean section. Our primary objective is to develop a reliable predictive neuraxial morphine induced nausea and vomiting (NMINV) and itching model.
Use of the Pressure Right Device After Laparoscopic Surgery
NauseaVomitingThe primary objective is to test the hypothesis that the use of the Pressure Right device in combination with ondansetron and dexamethasone would result in a lower incidence of postoperative vomiting (emesis) than the combination of antiemetic therapy alone.
Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting: to Estimate the Incidence and Risk Factors in a Tertiary Teaching...
Postoperative Nausea and VomitingPostoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a frequent complication of surgery and anesthesia. The aim of this study is to estimate the incidence and the risk factors of PONV at Jordan University Hospital over one year period.
Prevalence of Delayed Chemotherapy Associated Nausea
Chemotherapy-induced Nausea and VomitingThis study evaluates the prevalence of delayed chemotherapy induced nausea in adult oncology patients in real clinical practice of day clinics.
External Validation of the Apfel Risk Score and Koivuranta Score to Predict Postoperative Nausea...
Postoperative Nausea and VomitingHepatobiliary Surgery1 morePostoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a common complication among surgical patients. The incidence ranging from 20% to 50% depends on different population studied. Clinical practice guidelines recommend routine PONV screening before surgery using the Apfel simplified risk score OR Koivuranta score. However, these two scores haven't been translated into Chinese version and tested for psychometric qualities. Therefore, this study aim to externally validate two PONV prediction models in the Chinese hospital setting for PONV assessment.
Prevalence And Burden Of Nausea And Vomiting In Pregnant Women
Nausea GravidarumVomiting of PregnancyOn February 25th, 2019, ITALFARMACO launched Nuperal® in Italy, an association of doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride authorized by AIFA for the symptomatic treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (NVP). This drug is also recommended as first choice drug therapy by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Guidelines and is supported by extensive international literature. Numerous epidemiological researches conducted in the US and Norway have highlighted the extent of vomiting and pregnant nausea. Unfortunately to date, there are no information on the prevalence of this phenomenon in Italy, on its impact on women's lives and on the interaction between woman and gynecologists. The research hypothesis of the present survey is that, using a representative sample of pregnant women in Italy, it will be possible to identify the prevalence and weight of nausea and vomiting symptoms during pregnancy in this country. The study is an open, non-comparative, multicenter survey and the aim is to evaluate the prevalence and weight that the symptoms of nausea and vomiting have in pregnant women in Italy. The study population will include 600 women found during weeks 18-22 of pregnancy who will arrive at the three sites or will contact the Investigators after the Ethics Committee (EC) approval.
Early PONV - a Registry Based Study in Sweden.
Postoperative Nausea and VomitingPostoperative ComplicationsThe study is an registry study based on data from the Swedish Perioperative Registry (SPOR) during the years 2016-2022 with the aim to explore the risk for postoperative nausea and vomiting at the recovery unit (early PONV). The study will explore several cohorts (for example a specific procedure) on a national basis, report the risk for early PONV and identify associated factors.
Risk Factors for Shoulder Pain and Emesis After Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
Shoulder PainNausea1 moreRisk factors for postoperative shoulder pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy were not clear. Moreover, risk factors for postoperative emesis specially for this surgery were not detailed and accurate. The present study is a prospective cohort study to identify risk factors for shoulder pain and emesis within 24 hours in Chinese patients after laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anesthesia.
Nausea and Vomiting After Gynecologic Surgery
Postoperative Nausea and VomitingGynecologic SurgeryIn this cross-section study, all patients in the gynecologic ward of Peking Union Medical College Hospital will accepted a survey about the prevalence and severity of nausea and vomiting according to visual analogue scale and WHO classification. Epidemiological, surgical, anaesthetic characteristics and post-operative treatment are considered as predictors for the post-operative nausea and vomiting. The primary objective is the incidence of nausea and vomiting. The secondary objective is the possible predictors of nausea and vomiting.
Riskfactors of Post-operative Pain and Nausea After Ambulatory Gynaecological Laparocopy.
Postoperative PainPostoperative NauseaPatient due for elective, ambulatory gynaecological laparoscopy will be screened peri-operatively for known and potential risk factors of postoperative pain and nausea/vomiting. The actual incidence and severity of pain and nausea/vomiting will be recorded during th 0-24 hr intervall after end of surgery, as well as the doses of all drugs, given for either prophylaxis or treatment
