Imaging Response to Immunotherapy and Radiation Therapy in Patients With Liver Metastases
Liver MetastasesPatients will be imaged with MRE at the time of the RT planning MRI, prior to the induction of RT and immunotherapy. Research imaging will be in addition to standard imaging studies performed at time points consistent with the standard of care (at the time of the RT planning MRI and the first clinical follow-up). An additional MRE exam will be performed at the end of treatment outside the standard of care imaging.
Improving Cardiac Secondary Prevention
Myocardial InfarctionSecondary PreventionThe purpose of this study is to determine whether providing individuals with personalized information on cellular aging, including telomere dynamics, will stimulate them to adhere to cardiac prevention strategies and improve exercise capacity.
Surgical Treatment of Long Bone Metastases
Bone MetastasesSurgeryTo provide treatment guidelines for patients with long bone metastatic disease based on observational study and to propose an algorithm to guide orthopedic surgeons in decision-making for these patient.
Culture of Circulating Tumor Cells Isolated From Cancer Patients With Metastatic Disease
Circulating Tumor CellsThe purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of using novel decellularized tissue matrices to isolate and culture circulating tumor cells (CTCs) collected from patients with metastatic solid tumor malignancies.
Secondary Cancers in Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN-K Study)
Polycythemia VeraEssential Thrombocythemia1 moreThe incidence of secondary cancer (SC) in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) is high and comparable to that of thrombosis. However, the identification of patient subgroups that might be at increased susceptibility of developing SC has not been systematically addressed. This international case-control study (MPN-K) is aimed to elucidate the prognostic role of JAK2V617F mutation in predicting the occurrence of SC in patients with classical MPN, polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET) and myelofibrosis (MF)
IOPTH Usefulness for Predicting Successful Surgery in Secondary Hyperparathyroidism
Secondary HyperparathyroidismSecondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a multisystemic syndrome that affects calcium and bone homeostasis in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Despite medical treatment, 1-2% of patients require parathyroidectomy anually. The use of an intraoperative paratohormone protocol (IOPTH) to predict cure still in debate, due to the lack of standardized protocols, the use of different assays and uneven PTH clearance. The aim of this study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy of an IOPTH in patients with SHPT for predicting successful surgery after parathyroidectomy.
Dose Efficiency of Modern CT Scanners in Oncologic Scans
NeoplasmsNeoplasm Metastasis1 moreCT-Staging is crucial for therapy planning of patients with malignancies. Dose efficiency and image quality are important parameters for these examinations. Up to now, scientific evidence of dose efficiency of modern CT scanners is mostly derived from retrospective analyses. This prospective study systematically analyzes dose efficiency and image quality of three modern CT scanners by randomization of patients who are scheduled for a CT scan to examine the status of malignancies. After giving informed consent and randomization (1:1:1), the CT scan will be performed at one of the modern CT scanners available at our department. This will allow a systematic allocation to the different scanners.
Survival Impact of Internal Mammary or Supraclavicular Lymphadenectomy
Ovarian Cancer Stage IVLymph Node MetastasesTo evaluate the survival impact of extensive lymphadenectomy as part of debulking surgery in stage IVB ovarian cancer with supradiaphragmatic lymph node metastasis.
Feasibility of Supportive Care Needs in Patients With Advanced Solid Cancer in a Therapeutic Trial...
Supportive CareMetastatic Cancer1 moreThe purpose of the study is to assess the supportive care needs of patients enrolled in a therapeutic trial for metastatic cancer.
A Study to Investigate the Possible Causes of Secondary Effects During Use of Peripheral Midline...
Upper Extremity Deep Vein ThrombosisSecondaryAlthough the use of peripheral venous catheters (CVP) with brachial insertion with echo-guide (Midline) has increased significantly over the last 5-10 years, there are no sensitive data concerning complications in the literature during their use, particularly as regards incidence of thrombotic complication. The prospective observational study will enroll all the patients admitted to Home Health Hospitalization service, Geriatric Department and Intermediate Care service, to whom a Midline-type CVP will be placed for infusional therapy and who will give their consent to participate.
