A Descriptive Study of Baseline Characteristics, Clinical Outcomes, and Treatment Patterns of HR+/HER2-...

HR+/HER2- Advanced or Metastatic Breast Cancer

This was a non-interventional, retrospective cohort study of patients with HR+/HER2- aBC treated with alpelisib (ALP) plus fulvestrant (FUL) who have received fulvestrant in any prior line of therapy (LoT). This study utilized de-identified individual patient data from the United States (US) ConcertAI Patient360 Breast Cancer database, sourced from electronic health records (EHR) (i.e., secondary use of data). Patients were indexed at their start date of the earliest alpelisib plus fulvestrant regimen and followed until their death date or last confirmed activity date in the absence of an observed death.

Reliability and Validity of The '6 Minute Pegboard and Ring Test' in Patients With Breast Cancer...

Breast CancerFunctional Performance1 more

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women in the world and its incidence reaches up to 16%.Although survival can be increased with early diagnosis and more effective therapies, physical complications such as lymphedema, upper extremity dysfunction and chronic pain are frequently seen during and/or after breast cancer treatments. It has been determined that lymphedema associated with breast cancer treatment is a factor that mediates and/or exacerbates the adverse effects of breast cancer treatments on upper extremity functional capacity and quality of life of patients. It was determined that the 6 Minute Pegboard and Ring Test (6PRT) score showed a clear relationship with the upper extremity daily living activities (ADLs), and it was concluded that the 6 Minute Pegboard and Ring Test (6PRT) test could be used as an appropriate test in pulmonary rehabilitation programs to predict and show the improvement of daily living activities (ADLs). Therefore, in this study; The results to be obtained by evaluating the validity and reliability of the 6 Minute Pegboard and Ring Test (6PRT) test in breast cancer patients will increase the use of this test in both testing arm endurance and arm exercise capacity in breast cancer patients, and predicting the effect on daily living activities (ADLs)

Analysis of Patient Understanding of Radiation Therapy Among Patients With Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer

The purpose of this study is to conduct a descriptive feasibility study of assessing how patients retain and understand information regarding radiation therapy obtained from an initial consult visit. This study will also pilot the use of visual aids and assess their utility to patients during a consult. The study will provide a baseline to conduct larger studies that will later incorporate additional patient education tools to assess changes in patient understanding of information received in radiation oncology patient consultations.

Acute Effects of Chemotherapy Administration on Skeletal Muscle of Breast Cancer Patients: the PROTECT-06...

Breast Cancer

Chemotherapy treatments such as epirubicin-cyclophosphamid or paclitaxel lead to severe off-target side effects such as skeletal muscle deconditioning. To date, three different studies investigated skeletal muscle decontioning in breast cancer patients, through long term protocols including all chemotherapy cycle treatment, and highlighted both structural alterations and impaired cellular processes. However, no study is currently availbale on the acute effect of one single chemotherapy administration in breast cancer patients skeletal muscle tissue. Our study is therefore dedicated to the investigation of the acute effect of the first dose administration of both Epuribicin/cyclophosphamide and Paclitaxel chemotherapies on skeletal muscle of breast cancer patients.
