Investigation of a Digital Healthy Habits Program for Individuals With Breast Cancer

CancerBreast Cancer3 more

This mixed methods study will involve obtaining user feedback on the first 4 weeks of the Healthy Habits for Cancer (HCC) Program. Short pre and post surveys and in-depth qualitative interviews will be conducted exploring their views on the app (features they liked and didn't like), the extent to which they believe the app would have to be further adapted, how they would feel about such an app being embedded in their cancer care and when in their care pathway they would like to be offered it.

Evaluating Breast Cancer Patients Modesty During Radiotherapy. A Multicentric Study

Breast Cancer

Patients affected by breast cancer undergo radiotherapy with bare chest and can therefore live the moments in which they undress in front of the radiation therapy technologists (RTTs) in charge of their treatment as an extremely embarrassing one. Furthermore, for some of these patients the relationship with their bodies has indeed changed since surgery (i.e. mutilations, scars), particularly for specific age or socio-economic groups. In this context, sub-standard care in maintaining modesty during breast cancer radiotherapy has been reported in literature, even if poorly studied. Aim of this multicentric observational study is to describe how modesty is perceived by patients undergoing radiotherapy for breast cancer.

Incidence and Prognostic Significance of HER-2 Status Discordance Between Primary Breast Cancer...

Breast Cancer

About a half of HER2-negative breast cancer show HER2-low expression that can be targeted by new antibody-drug conjugates. The main aim of this study is to describe the evolution of HER2 expression from primary BC to relapse by including HER2-low category in both primary and recurrent BC samples. Patients with matched primary and relapse BC samples were included. 1299 patients were included.

The Role of Genetic Factors in the Development of Breast Cancer in the Kazakh Population

Breast Cancer

This is a GWAS study that aims to identify possible candidate genes associate to breast cancer by exploring single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in a group of breast cancer, in the Kazakh population. The investigators hypothesize that the careful phenotyping of the subject sand matching with increase the power to find SNP significantly associate with breast cancer

Analysis of Breast-Conserving Surgery Plus Whole-Breast Irradiation Versus Mastectomy

Breast Cancer

This is a retrospective propensity score-matched analysis of a large institutional cohort of patients in order to compare long-term outcomes and clinicopathologic characteristics between patients treated with breast conserving surgery or mastectomy for breast cancer.

Tactile Breast Imaging Sensor for Tumor Malignancy Characterization

Breast Cancer

The aim of this study is to see how well a tactile imaging sensor will detect for breast masses compared to traditional mammography and/or ultrasound. This device may allow a simple, convenient method to screen for breast tumors. This data will be used to check the feasibility of using the device to detect breast tumors.

Improving Surgical Decision-making in Young Women With Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer

The overall goal of this study is to qualitatively assess the surgical decision-making process from both the patient and physician perspective Conduct short in-person interviews with young women prior to surgery Conduct focus groups with breast cancer survivors about their surgical decision and experience Interview surgical oncologists, plastic surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists about their experiences and how they communicate with breast cancer patients about local therapy decisions To survey women about surgical decision-making prior to and after their consult in conjunction with pilot testing of a web-based decision aid to support high quality surgical decision-making in newly diagnosed young women with breast cancer.
