Implementing Preemptive Pharmacogenomic Testing for Colorectal Cancer Patients in a Community Oncology...

Colorectal Cancer

Pharmacogenomics (PGx) studies the interactions between an individuals genes and medications. PGx testing identifies genes within an individual that may affect treatment, efficacy, and toxicity of drugs. With improvements in testing speed, accuracy and cost, it is now possible to perform PGx testing in cancer patients prior to starting chemotherapy. The test results may help a physician personalize chemotherapy dosing. The goal of this study is to determine if PGx testing using the OneOme® Rightmed test is feasible in a community oncology clinic to guide treatment prior to starting chemotherapy. The study will also gather data regarding the frequency of genes within the local population as well as the impact of testing on chemotherapy doses.

Simo Decoction and Acupuncture on POI in Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer resection is one of the most common types of abdominal surgery. Though most patients undergoing colorectal resection show recovery of bowel movements within a week, some have prolonged intestinal paralysis or postoperative ileus, resulting in decreasing patient comfort, increasing morbidity and mortality, a longer hospital stay and subsequent increased healthcare costs.

Multicenter Randomized Parallel Group Phase III Study Comparing the Bowel Cleansing Efficacy, Safety...

Colorectal CancerColorectal Carcinoma1 more

This study evaluates the efficacy, safety and tolerability of NER1006 versus a sodium picosulfate and magnesium salt solution (SP + MS) in adult patients requiring bowel cleansing prior to any procedure that requires a clean bowel, using a Day Before Only Dosing regimen. Approximately 484 patients will be randomised with the aim of achieving a minimum of 220 patients in each of the 2 groups.

Rintatolimod and Pembrolizumab for the Treatment of Refractory Metastatic or Unresectable Colorectal...

Metastatic Colorectal AdenocarcinomaMicrosatellite Stable11 more

This phase IIa trial studies how well rintatolimod and pembrolizumab works in treating patients with colorectal cancer that does not respond to treatment (refractory), has spread to other places in the body (metastatic), or otherwise cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Rintatolimod is an immuno-oncology agent that can stimulate the immune system. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving rintatolimod and pembrolizumab together may work better than standard of care in treating patients with colorectal cancer.

Pedaling at a Low-Moderate Intensity During Chemotherapy Administration

Colorectal CancerExercise3 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of completing a low-moderate intensity pedaling session concurrent to chemotherapy treatment for colorectal cancer. Secondary objectives for this study consist of evaluating the role of pedaling on sarcopenia rates, quality of life markers, chemotherapy side effects, rate of hospital admissions, and treatment delays.
