e- Ab Sensor-based Real-time Detection of Mutant EGFR in Clinical Specimens From Patients of Non-small...

Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

The purpose of this study is to develop a real-time diagnostic technique with e- Ab sensor for specific EGFR mutation detection in clinical specimens of NSCLC patients, the investigators conduct a prospective clinical study. In comparison with results from direct sequencing of EGFR, the investigators evaluate the performance of e- Ab sensor, including reproducibility, sensitivity, specificity, and cross-reaction (such as detection of EGFR mutations other than L858R and DelL746-A750). The potential factors which may interfere with the results would be investigated. With such technique, the investigators can obtain EGFR mutation information of NSCLC patients in cost-saving and time-saving way and can offer more individualized treatment for the investigators patients.

Non-small Cell Lung CancerUnresectable Malignant Neoplasm

This observational trial is designed to assess the safety profile and tolerability of bevacizumab when combined with chemotherapy as first-line treatment of advanced or recurrent non-squamous NSCLC.

Studying Tumor Tissue Samples From Patients With Early-Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Lung Cancer

This research trial studies biomarkers in predicting the risk of cancer returning after surgery in tissue samples of patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer. Studying samples of tumor tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors identify and learn more about biomarkers related to cancer and predict how well patients will respond to treatment.

An Observational Study of Tarceva (Erlotinib) in Elderly Patients With Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung...

Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

This prospective observational study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tarceva (erlotinib) in elderly patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure of at least one prior chemotherapy regimen. Data of patients treated with Tarceva in routine clinical practice will be collected for 1 year.

Chemotherapy Resistance and Sensitivity Testing in Lung Tumors

Lung Cancer

The purpose of this study is to screen chemotherapy drugs currently used to treat lung cancer and determine the most effective treatment based on results of chemo sensitivity testing on the patients own cancer cells in the laboratory. The results of this screening will not influence the patients treatment.

Randomized Study of Preoperative Dexamethasone for Quality of Recovery in VATS Lung Resection Patients...

Lung Cancer

The proposed study is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled evaluation if a small dose of IV dexamethasone during induction anesthesia in association to pre and postoperative intercostal nerve block, improves quality of recovery of thoracoscopic lung resection patients.

A Study Examining Long Response in Lung Cancer Patients Treated With Tarceva (Erlotinib)

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

This multicenter, retrospective and prospective observational, cohort study will examine the effect of second-line Tarceva treatment on long response in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) participants with wild type or unknown EGFR status. Participants will be observed from the start of treatment for 8 months or until death. The extension of the retrospective versus prospective observation will depend on the lag between the date of the participant enrollment and the date of beginning of erlotinib therapy.

Chest Imaging, Breath, and Biomarkers in a Screening Trial

Lung Cancer

The investigators would like to see if lung cancer screening with chest x-rays,computer aided detection (CAD)and a lose dose CT scan can detect lung cancer in early stages when it is more responsive to treatment. The investigators would also like to see if early detection will reduce the incidence of symptomatic advanced lung cancer compared to no screening in former and current smokers with or without a family history of lung cancer who are 40-75 years old.

Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

This prospective, multicenter observational study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of Tarceva (erlotinib) as second-line treatment in patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have progressed after pemetrexed-containing first-line chemotherapy. Eligible patients will be followed until withdrawal of consent, lost-to-follow-up, or study termination, whichever occurs first.
