Circulating Tumour Cells as Biomarkers to Predict Prostate Cancer Metastasis for Treatment Stratification...

Prostate Cancer

The goal of this study is to establish the value of Circulating Tumour Cell (CTC) positivity in predicting post-RP treatment failure, including BCR and new lesions detected by cancer imaging. We plan to recruit participants who will undergo Radical Prostatectomy (RP). Participants will have their blood samples taken just before surgery and 3 months after the surgery to test for CTCs. Then participants will be followed-up for cancer progression information at 3 month intervals for the first year then yearly intervals after that. Their PSA will be observed over time.

Prostate Carcinoma

This study investigates ways to detect prostate cancer earlier in people at genetic risk for disease that forms, grows, or spreads quickly (aggressive). Studying samples of blood, urine, and/or tissue in the laboratory may help doctors further understand the genetics of prostate cancer and help identify ways to detect cancer earlier, thereby improving treatment and methods of early detection in the future.

This trial studies how well magnetic resonance whole body diffusion-weighted imaging works in finding cancer that has spread to the bone or lymph nodes (metastasis) in participants with high-risk prostate cancer. Diagnostic procedures, such as magnetic resonance whole body diffusion-weighted imaging (a method to show how water moves in a certain area) may help find bone or lymph nodes metastasis.

Repository will include clinical information and biologics on a cohort of 240 men, to predict presence of high grade cancer at time of prostatectomy (removal of prostate) among patients with a low grade cancer diagnosis at time of biopsy.

Background: Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers for men in the U.S. There are some new ways to take pictures of the cancer. There are also new ways to use image-guided biopsy and therapy. These could help manage prostate cancer. Researchers want to study how imaging can provide a profile of prostate cancer. They want to collect data to make diagnosis and treatments better. Objectives: To gather data about the radiological and clinical course of prostate cancer. To study imaging-based biomarkers of prostate cancer. Eligibility: Men ages 18 and older with diagnosed or suspected prostate cancer Design: Participants will give permission for researchers to use their medical history and records. Their data will be reviewed, collected, and analyzed. These include results of their tests and scans. Sponsoring Institution: National Cancer Institute

Diagnostic procedures, such as gallium Ga 68 DOTA-NeoBOMB1 and gallium Ga 68 PSMA-R2 PET/MRI, may help find and diagnose prostate cancer and find out how far the disease has spread.

Quantitative parameters obtained with dynamic whole body imaging using positron emission tomography (PET) can provide additional and complementary information to standard PET. Dynamic imaging allows for better understanding of the behavior of the radio-pharmaceutical because it can be followed over time. Thought to be difficult to perform with currently available clinical equipment that can affect the clinical workflow, it has recently shown to be feasible. We want to test the feasibility of this imaging technique and evaluate its utility in identifying lesions with three different radio-pharmaceuticals as compared to standard static PET. This study will also determine the clinical impact of DWB PET on participant management by comparing the overall qualitative assessment performed by nuclear medicine physicians between the standard PET images and the DWB ones.

This phase III trial studies how well Gallium Ga 68-labeled PSMA-11 (68Ga-PSMA-11) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) works in diagnosing participants with prostate cancer that has come back after surgery. 68Ga-PSMA-11 are taken up by cancer cells. Diagnostic procedures, such as PET/CT scans, may help find and diagnose prostate cancer and find out how far the disease has spread. Giving 68Ga-PSMA-11 with PET/CT may help doctors plan better for salvage radiation therapy in participants with recurrent prostate cancer.
