A Study of the Effect of R1507 in Combination With Tarceva (Erlotinib) on Progression-Free Survival...
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerThis single arm study in patients with advanced Stage IIIb/IV NSCLC who have progressive disease after deriving clinical benefit (defined as response or stable disease after 12 weeks) from second or third line Tarceva monotherapy will determine the proportion of patients with progression-free survival at 12 weeks following combination therapy with R1507 and Tarceva. Patients will receive R1507 (9mg/kg iv) weekly in combination with Tarceva (150mg oral daily) for up to a maximum of 24 months. Other disease-related endpoints including overall survival, objective response rate, time to response, time to progressive disease and duration of response will also be evaluated. The anticipated time on study treatment is 1-2 years, and the target sample size is <100 individuals.

Thermal Ablation Combined With External Beam Radiation Therapy for Patients With Inoperable Non-Small...
Non-small Cell Lung CancerThe main objective of this study is to assess the initial safety of the combination of interventional ablation and external beam radiotherapy including acute and late toxicity (90 days) for patients with early stage lung cancer.

GW786034 in Patients With Non Small Cell Lung Cancer 3rd Line
Non Small Cell Lung CancerLung Cancer is the most common cause of cancer death in the United States with an estimated mortality in excess of 160,000, more than the combined mortality seen with prostate, breast, colorectal cancers(1). Most patients with Lung Cancer have Non-Small Cell Lung Cancers( NSCLC) and only 25-30% of patients with NSCLC (Non Small Cell Lung Cancer) have resectable disease( Stage I or II) at the time of diagnosis. The vast majority of patients with advanced NSCLC (Non Small Cell Lung Cancer) are not curable and overall five year survival is 11%-14%1. Chemotherapy is beneficial for patients with locally advanced and metastatic disease. Numerous phase III studies have determined the superiority of systemic chemotherapy over best supportive care. Platinum based chemotherapy has been widely accepted as the standard of care for the initial treatment of advanced NSCLC. However first line chemotherapy is modest at best. A randomized trial comparing four of the most commonly used chemotherapy regimens in the United States not only failed to show a clearly superior arm but also confirmed the dismal prognosis of these patients. The response rate for all 1207 patients was 18.6% with a median survival of eight months and one year survival of 33.5 % and a two year survival of 12%5. Clearly a different paradigm is needed for the treatment of this disease.

Gemcitabine Hydrochloride or Pemetrexed Disodium and Carboplatin With or Without Celecoxib in Treating...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Pemetrexed disodium and celecoxib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether giving gemcitabine hydrochloride or pemetrexed disodium together with carboplatin is more effective with or without celecoxib in treating non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying gemcitabine hydrochloride, pemetrexed disodium, and carboplatin to compare how well they work when given together with celecoxib or a placebo in treating patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

Iressa in the Treatment of Brain Metastases From Non Small Cell Lung Cancer
Brain NeoplasmsNon Small Cell Lung CancerThe aim of the study is to determine if Iressa is effective in the treatment of Brain metastases from NCSLC

A Phase I/II Clinical Trial of Vorinostat in Combination With Erlotinib for Patients With Relapsed/Refractory...
CarcinomaNon-Small-Cell LungThe reason for this study will be to find the safest maximum tolerated dose of oral vorinostat in combination with erlotinib [Tarceva (TM)] that can be given to patients with lung cancer who have relapsed or failed other therapy for the disease. Once the safest maximum tolerated dose of vorinostat is determined, patients enrolled in the clinical trial will continue vorinostat and erlotinib for up to 8 months. Safety and effectiveness will also be evaluated.

Trial Comparing Cetuximab With Pemetrexed/Cetuximab Therapy for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-small Cell Lung CancerThe purpose of the study is to determine in patients with Non Small Cell Lung Cancer refractory to previous chemotherapy whether concomitant treatment with cetuximab and pemetrexed improves progression-free survival compared with cetuximab monotherapy.

Pharmacokinetic & Pharmacodynamic Study of ABT-751 With Carboplatin in Patients With Advanced Lung...
Non Small Cell Lung CancerLung CancerPrimary Objectives: The primary objectives of this study are as follows: • To determine the dose limiting toxicity (DLT) and the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of escalating ABT-751 in combination with fixed dose carboplatin in patients with advanced non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). • To evaluate the efficacy of the combination with ABT-751 and carboplatin in patients with advanced NSCLC • To determine the median survival in the study population Secondary Objectives The secondary objectives are: • To characterize the pharmacokinetic profile of ABT-751 given in combination with carboplatin in a subset of patients, treated at the MTD or recommended doses for Phase 2. • To determine the pharmacodynamics of ABT-751 as a single agent and the combination of ABT-751 and carboplatin as evaluated by cell cycle analysis of buccal mucosa cells.

Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Stage IV Lung Cancer
Stage IV Lung CancerCurrent therapies for Stage IV lung cancer provide very limited benefit to the patient. The anti-cancer properties of Antineoplaston therapy suggest that it may prove beneficial in the treatment of Stage IV lung cancer. PURPOSE: This study is being performed to determine the effects (good and bad) that Antineoplaston therapy has on patients with Stage IV lung cancer.

S0022:Combination Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Stage IIIB Non-Small...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus radiation therapy in treating patients who have stage IIIB non-small cell lung cancer.
