
Phase II Study of ZD6474 in Advanced NSCLC
Lung CancerThe goal of this clinical research study is to learn how the drug ZD6474 affects the amount of tumor cell death in the body and the amount of blood that can be supplied to the tumor. The safety of ZD6474 alone and when given with chemotherapy will be studied. In addition, the side effects and response to this treatment will also be studied.

Non-small-cell Lung CancerThis is a Phase I-II study designed to investigate nimotuzumab (TheraCIM h-R3) in combination with external radiation in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. The purpose of the Phase I portion of the study is to evaluate the safety and feasibility of the administration of nimotuzumab with palliative radiation in patients who are unsuitable for radical therapy and to select the optimal dose for the Phase II component of the study. The primary objective for the Phase II portion of the study is to examine the efficacy of this combination treatment. The Phase I component of this study has been completed. The Phase II is now closed to recruitment.

Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Oxaliplatin and docetaxel may make tumor cells more sensitive to radiation therapy. Giving oxaliplatin and docetaxel together with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of oxaliplatin when given together with docetaxel and radiation therapy in treating patients with unresectable stage II or stage III or recurrent non-small cell lung cancer .

Metastatic Malignant Neoplasm in the BrainRecurrent Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma1 moreThis randomized phase III trial is studying whole-brain radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery with or without temozolomide or erlotinib to see how well they work compared to whole-brain radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery in treating patients with brain metastases secondary to non-small cell lung cancer. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Stereotactic radiosurgery may be able to deliver x-rays directly to the tumor and cause less damage to normal tissue. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery are more effective with or without temozolomide or erlotinib in treating brain metastases.
