Prognostic Value of the 6-minute Stepper Test in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Surgery

Lung Neoplasm MalignantResectable Lung Non-Small Cell Carcinoma

The objective of this study is to evaluate the performances of the Six-Minute Stepper Test (6MST) and Sit To Stand test (STST) to predict post-operative complications after minimally invasive lung cancer resection.

A Prospective Study of Electronic Symptom Reporting Via Mobile Phone Among Patients With Advanced...

Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Symptoms are common among patients with advanced malignancy undergoing treatment, and yet often go unrecognized by treatment providers. In addition to contributing to morbidity, poorly controlled symptoms drive emergency room utilization and hospital admission in this population, representing significant cost to patients, families, and the health care system. Systematic collection of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) has been proposed as a way to arm providers with the information necessary to intervene early, intensify symptom management, and improve symptom control. Recent research suggests that a standardized, web-based program of weekly patient-reported symptom monitoring leads to improved health-related quality of life and reduced acute care utilization; it may also prolong overall survival. Despite mounting evidence supporting its use among oncology patients, systematic PRO collection is lacking at most cancer centers, and optimal models for collection of PROs are poorly understood. The objective of this study is to evaluate prospectively the feasibility of a novel mobile phone-based intervention of weekly symptom reporting, among patients undergoing treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

Immune Response in Lung Cancer

Lung Cancer

This study is designed to evaluate the importance of the immune cells localization (distribution) between malignant tumor islets and surrounding stroma and to investigate the associations between these immune cells as well as cytokines and clinicopathological and prognostic factors of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.

Biomarkers in Predicting Response in Patients With Early-Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Previously...

Lung Cancer

This research trial studies prognostic and predictive markers in patients with early stage non-small cell lung cancer receiving chemotherapy. Prognostic markers are patient or tumor factors that predict patient survival independent of treatment. Predictive markers are factors that may influence and predict the outcome of treatment in terms of either response or survival benefit. Collecting and storing samples of tissue from patients with cancer to study in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about cancer and identify biomarkers related to cancer.

Methylation Level of SHOX2 in Endobronchial Ultrasound With Real-time Guided Transbronchial Needle...

Lung Cancer With Mediastinal Lymph Node Involvement

A DNA hypermethylation of the gene locus SHOX2 can be frequently found in lung cancer tissue. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the assessment of the hypermethylation level of SHOX2 in specimens obtained by endosonographic guided bronchoscopy makes a contribution to lung cancer staging.

Hemodynamic Changes During One Lung Ventilation in Non-intubated Vedio-assisted Thoracoscopic Operations...

Lung Neoplasms

Non-intubated thoracoscopic surgery has been proved as an adequate alternative for management of many lung conditions such as pneumothorax , lung volume reduction, pulmonary metastasectomy, removal of lung nodules, segmentectomy and lobectomy. However, the hemodynamic changes during one lung ventilation have not been fully investigated. The goals of this study are to compare the changes of hemodynamics (including blood pressure, heart rate, cardiac output, pulse pressure variation, fluid responsiveness) during one lung ventilation between conventional intubated and non-intubated vedio-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) operations.

Expanded Access Study of Alectinib for Participants With Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK)-Rearranged...

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

This is an open-label, multicenter, single-arm, expanded access study designed to provide alectinib to participants with ALK-rearranged NSCLC after disease progression on or intolerance to prior ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy. Participants will receive alectinib until disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, withdrawal of consent, patient or physician decision to discontinue treatment, death, alectinib becomes commercially available in the United States following approval of alectinib by the FDA, or the Sponsor decides to close the trial, whichever occurs first (approximately 15 months).
