Characterization of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) in High Risk and Early Metastatic Prostate Cancer...

High Risk Prostate CarcinomaBiochemically Recurrent Prostate Carcinoma2 more

This study is designed to evaluate the presence and numbers of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and cancer related gene expression levels in subjects with localized high-risk prostate cancer (HRLPC) and from subjects with non-metastatic disease experiencing biochemical recurrence and castration-resistance (BCRLPC and NMCRPC groups, respectively) who are about to undergo next generation imaging (NGI, such as Axumin® or PSMA PETCT). The investigators will also evaluate subjects with localized indolent prostate cancer who are on active surveillance (AS) as a control population. The CTC and gene expression results will be evaluated for association with disease state and progression and survival.

Ductal Infiltrating Metastatic Breast CancerHormone-receptors Positive Breast Cancer

The STIC CTC study is a randomized trial to evaluate the medico-economic interest of taking into account circulating tumor cells (CTC) to determine the kind of first line treatment for metastatic, hormone-receptors positive, breast cancers. In the standard arm, the kind of treatment will be decided by clinicians, taking into account the criteria usually used in this setting. In the CTC arm, the type of treatment will be decided by CTC count: hormone-therapy if <5CTC/7.5mll (CellSearch technique) or chemotherapy if =5. The main medical objective is to demonstrate the non-inferiority of the CTC-based strategy for the progression-free survival: 994 patients are needed, and will be accrued in French cancer centers. Secondary clinical objectives are to compare toxicity, quality of life and overall survival between the two arms. The medico-economic study will compare cost per progression-free life years gained of the two strategies. The financial impact of centralized (one platform) vs decentralized (several platforms) CTC testing will be evaluated.

Circulating Tumor Cells in Prostate Cancer Patients

Prostate Cancer

The purpose of this study is to determine if a non-invasive cancer treatment, high-dose stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), is associated with changes in circulating tumor cells counts in patients with low- and intermediate-risk prostate cancer.

CarcinomaHepatocellular2 more

This study is designed to prospectively evaluate whether post-hepatectomy adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is effective in reducing early recurrence in HCC patients with preoperative CTC ≥2.

Clinical Significance of Detecting CEA and CK20 mRNA-positive Cells in Colorectal Cancer Patients...

Colorectal CancerCirculating Tumor Cell

To determine whether the presence of circulating/disseminated tumor cells (CTCs/DTCs) in the blood and bone marrow of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with localized disease is a negative prognostic factor, and to find correlations with other clinical/pathological disease characteristics.

Research of Circulating Tumor Cells Released During Endometrial Cancer Surgery.

Endometrial Cancer

The purpose of this study is to investigate the spread of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC) during surgery in endometrial cancer. Although this cancer is often discovered at early stage, the risk of recurrence is estimated at 6 to 21%, according to grade. Early stage tumor is accessible for curative surgical treatment by laparoscopy but this kind of surgery may induce CTCs spread, and could be an explanation of this recurrence. Through this study, concordance between two blood punction sites, peripheral vein and ovarian vein, will be evaluated to detect these cells during surgery.

Circulating Tumour Cells in Somatuline Autogel Treated NeuroEndocrine Tumours Patients

NeuroEndocrine Tumours

Circulating tumour cells (CTCs) are detectable in the blood in around 50% of patients with functioning NeuroEndocrine Tumours (NET) arising in the midgut area (tumours which are secreting hormones and are located in the area in the middle of the digestive system) and their presence usually means that the prognosis for the patient is poor. CTCs have also been shown to be valuable as predictive markers following treatment and there is increasing interest in using CTCs as 'liquid biopsies' that can help to inform treatment decisions. CTC analysis has the benefit of being relatively non- invasive and quick compared with a conventional CT scan and is therefore an attractive method of monitoring the tumour throughout the treatment period. The purpose of this study is to assess the clinical value that enumeration will have in predicting the clinical symptomatic response and progression free survival in patients receiving Somatuline Autogel for functioning midgut NETs over a one year period.
