Liquid Biopsy Collection Study

Chaperonin-Containing TCP-1Circulating Tumor Cells2 more

The purpose of this study is to develop a liquid biopsy approach for detection of circulating tumor cells (CTC) that could be used in place of the more invasive and potentially risky methods of tissue biopsy. The aims of the project are: (a) determine whether the Chaperonin-Containing TCP-1 (CCT) chaperonin can used to identify rare cancer cells in blood, and (b) establish whether the cancer cells detected using the CCT chaperonin for identification have invasive or metastatic potential.

CTC Detection Rate in SCCHN With a in Vivo Device

Circulating Tumor CellSquamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck

Detection rate and isolation yield of CTC is low in squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck (SCCHN) with in vitro approaches rely on limited sample volumes. In this study, we applied a new method, the CellCollector, which could capture CTC in vivo from peripheral blood.

The Detection of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) in Patients With Renal Cancer Undergoing Cryosurgery...

Neoplastic CellsCirculating

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have the potential to provide a surrogate for'real-time biopsy' of tumor biological activity. Enumeration and molecular characterization of CTCs in renal cancer could play an important role in diagnosis, predicting the risk for tumor recurrence, and providing novel target therapy biomarkers. In view of these facts, the investigators wanted to demonstrate the value of multiparameter flow cytometry in detecting human tumor cells of renal cancer in normal peripheral blood after cryosurgery with or without dendritic cell(DC)-cytokine-induced killers(CIK) treatment, and the investigators also compared the specificity with reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method.

Circulating Tumor Cells in Solid Tumors

Solid TumorAdult

The purpose of this study is to identify circulating tumor cells in patients with solid tumors. Quantify and characterize these cells, collect patient information in regards to the patient's cancer. Develop a database and a sample repository where future analysis could be done.

Diagnostic Significance of CTCs in Patients With Thyroid Nodules (Circulating Tumor Cells)

Thyroid NoduleDiagnoses Disease

Thyroid nodule patients with suggestion of fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) offered by ultrasound are enrolled in the study. CTCs tested by Optimizing method and FNAB will be performed simultaneously. This is a double blind trial which pathologists and inspectors of CTCs don't know the result of each other. Surgical pathology and diagnostic results of FNAB is the primary endpoint and comparison will be made to see if CTCs combined with ultrasound can get similar diagnostic performance as FNAB. The diagnostic results of FNAB included Bethesda class II and more than V which are defined as benign and malignant, respectively.

Clinical Significance of Circulating Tumour Cells in Resectable Lung Cancer Patients

Non Small Cell Lung CancerCirculating Tumor Cell

To determine whether the presence of circulating/disseminated tumour cells (CTCs/DTCs) in the blood and bone marrow of the resectable lung cancer (NSCLC) patients is a negative prognostic factor, and to find correlations with other clinical/pathological disease characteristics.

The Detection of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) in Patients With Prostatic Cancer Undergoing Cryosurgery...

Neoplastic CellsCirculating

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have the potential to provide a surrogate for'real-time biopsy' of tumor biological activity. Enumeration and molecular characterization of CTCs in prostatic cancer could play an important role in diagnosis, predicting the risk for tumor recurrence, and providing novel target therapy biomarkers. In view of these facts, the investigators wanted to demonstrate the value of multiparameter flow cytometry in detecting human tumor cells of prostatic cancer in normal peripheral blood after cryosurgery with or without dendritic cell(DC)-cytokine-induced killers(CIK) treatment, and the investigators also compared the specificity with reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method.

Evaluation of Different Analysis Methods for Circulating Tumor Cells, Circulating Endothelial Cell,...

Solid Tumor.

Fifteen cohorts will be opened. Each cohort will explore one analysis method and/or tumoral type. Up to 50 patient can be included into each cohort.

Circulating Tumor Cells in Operative Blood

CarcinomaPancreatic Ductal

It is hypothesized that circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from pancreatic adenocarcinoma are released into the peritoneal cavity through blood lost during the surgical resection of these tumors resulting in peritoneal recurrence despite appropriate surgical resection. Targeting the mechanisms responsible for CTC adhesion to the peritoneum may result in inhibition of implantation and growth, thus preventing this mode of pancreatic cancer recurrence postoperatively.
