A Research Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of MK0686 for the Treatment of Postherpetic...
NeuralgiaPostherpeticThe purpose of this Study is to test the Safety and Effectiveness of MK0686 in relieving neuropathic (chronic) pain as experienced by patients with Postherpetic Neuralgia (Also Know as PHN or Post Shingles Pain). This is an early phase trial and some specific protocol information is proprietary and not publicly available at this time. (Full information is available to trial participants).
Effects of Gabapentin in the Treatment of Neuropathic Pain on Driving Performance and Cognition...
Chronic Neuropathic PainThe aim of this study was to explore the effects of pain on the one hand and the effects of treatment of pain with gabapentin (900, 1200, 1800 or 2400 mg) on the other hand on actual driving performance and several laboratory tests in patients with neuropathic pain. It was hypothesized that gabapentin might influence performance after acute but not after subchronic administration.
Study Evaluating EAA-090 in Adult Outpatients With Neuropathic Pain Associated With Diabetic Neuropathy...
Diabetes MellitusDiabetic Neuropathy1 moreEAA-090 is being developed for the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy. It is a selective antagonist that binds competitively to the glutamate site of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. This study will assess the safety and efficacy of 3 fixed oral doses of EAA-090 compared with placebo in subjects with neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy.
Radicle Relief 2: A Study of Health and Wellness Products on Pain and Health Outcomes
PainNeuropathic Pain1 moreA randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled study assessing the impact of health and wellness products on pain and other health outcomes
Caregiver Burden and Correlation With Clinical Outcome in Spinal Cord Stimulation for Chronic Neuropathic...
PainChronic3 moreProspective multicentric observational trial on caregiver burden, caregiver satisfaction and clinical outcome in spinal cord stimulation for chronic neuropathic pain.
Forms of Cervical Brachial Syndrome Treated With Plasma Concentrate Enriched for A2M
Complex Regional Pain SyndromesNeuralgia1 moreAlpha 2 macroglobulin (A2M) is a plasma protein that acts as a molecular trap for inflammatory factors such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF). After plasma is enriched for A2M, it may be injected for treating chronic inflammation. Plasma enriched for A2M may be considered as a possible injectable agent to counteract inflammation that may occur with a cervicobrachial pain syndrome. This study reports on an experiencing using A2M to treat cervicobrachial syndrome which was predominant for either musculotendinous or neuralgic features.
A Study of Amifostine for Prevention of Facial Numbness in Radiosurgery Treatment of Trigeminal...
Trigeminal NeuralgiaTrigeminal neuralgia or tic douloureux is severe, often debilitating, facial pain that significantly impairs the patient's quality of life and health. Stereotactic radiosurgery has been shown to provide pain relief in majority of patients treated. However, a common side effect of radiosurgery is facial numbness. Our goal is to maximize pain control while minimizing side effects. To this end, the purpose of this study is to evaluate whether adding a drug, amifostine, at the time of radiosurgery will protect patients from facial numbness.
Donepezil Compared to Placebo in Patients With Chronic Neuropathic Pain
Neuropathic PainBased on laboratory studies, donepezil will improve pain relief more than placebo in patients with chronic neuropathic pain who are currently taking gabapentin or pregabalin.
A Safety and Efficacy Study of AGN-214868 in Patients With Postherpetic Neuralgia
NeuralgiaPostherpeticThis is a safety and efficacy study of AGN-214868 in patients with postherpetic neuralgia (PHN).
Ranolazine for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (DPNP)
Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic PainThe purpose of this trial is to determine if patients suffering from diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain treated with ranolazine will have a greater reduction in pain compared to placebo. Hypothesis: From the prior clinical observations, and analgesic efficacy in the preclinical animal model of neuropathic pain, the investigators hypothesize that subjects randomized to ranolazine will show a greater reduction in diabetic neuropathic pain compared to placebo.
