The Efficacy of MK-8291 in Participants With Post-herpetic Neuralgia (PHN) With Allodynia (MK-8291-012)...
Postherpetic NeuralgiaThis study aims to determine whether MK-8291 is effective in reducing pain in participants with post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) with allodynia. The primary hypothesis is that when compared to placebo, treatment with MK-8291 reduces the change from Baseline in participant-reported pain intensity by 1 on an 11-point numeric rating scale.
PK & Tolerability of CNV1014802 in Young and Elderly Healthy Volunteers
Trigeminal NeuralgiaA randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, two period crossover study to investigate the pharmacokinetics, tolerability and cognitive effects of 8 days dosing of CNV1014802 in healthy young versus elderly male and female subjects. Treatment periods will be separated by 13 days. The primary outcome measures are pharmacokinetics (PK) and tolerability.
Analgecine for the Treatment of Neuropathic Pain
Neuropathic PainA randomized, open-label , positive drug controlled (Neurotropin,Japan organs Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ), multi-center study to evaluate Analgecine's efficacy and safety for the treatment of neuropathic pain.
Absorption, Metabolism, and Excretion Study of BIIB074
Neuropathic PainThe primary objectives of the study are: To determine the mass balance and routes of elimination of BIIB074 and its known metabolites following administration of a single oral dose of BIIB074 in healthy male participants and To describe the pharmacokinetics (PK) of BIIB074 and its known metabolites and the disposition profiles of total radioactivity in whole blood and plasma following a single oral dose. The secondary objectives of this study are: To assess the safety and tolerability of BIIB074 in healthy participants and To identify and characterize any additional metabolites of BIIB074 in plasma, urine, and feces.
A Nasal Applicator for the Treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia
Trigeminal NeuralgiaThe pain from Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) imposes a substantial burden on patients in daily function and reduces quality of life. The sphenopalatine ganglion, located in the posterior part of the middle nasal turbinate, is involved in the pain associated to TN, by blocking the sphenopalatine ganglion relieves patients from the symptoms. However, methods currently in use to accomplish this are either cumbersome for the patient or invasive regarding the puncture of structures. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Tx360™, a new nasal applicator device, in the treatment of TN. A local anesthetic will be delivered on the ganglion area. We are expecting that this new device will provide at least the same pain relief as the previously described approaches. However, this nasal applicator is intended to be an easy and non invasive method for office use.
Study Evaluating the Treatment of Occipital Neuralgia
Occipital NeuralgiaA proof of concept study to evaluate the feasibility of safe and effective treatment through optimization of the Cryo-Touch III device for temporary relief of or reduction in pain due to occipital neuralgia.
Efficacy and Tolerability of Lidocaine Plaster for Treatment of Long-term Local Nerve Pain
PainChronic Pain2 moreThe purpose of this trial is to investigate the efficacy and safety of lidocaine 5% medicated plaster in localized chronic post-operative neuropathic pain in comparison to placebo plaster.
Crossover Post-herpetic Neuralgia (PHN)
Post-Herpetic Neuralgia (PHN)The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of study drug (BMS-954561) as compared to placebo in the treatment of patients with post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN).
Oxcarbazepine for the Treatment of Chronic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain
PolyneuropathyPeripheral Nerve Injury1 moreThe purpose of this trial is to determine if the effect of oxcarbazepine on chronic peripheral nerve pain depends on the supposed mechanism of the pain, ie. if oxcarbazepine mainly relieve pain in patients with irritable nerves.
Study to Evaluate the Safety and Analgesic Activity of ATx08-001 in Subjects With Postherpetic Neuralgia...
Postherpetic NeuralgiaThis is a Phase 2 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multiple-dose, multicenter, parallel-group study to evaluate the analgesic activity of ATx08-001, a novel selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor modulator (SPPARM), in subjects with moderate-to-severe postherpetic neuralgia pain. Eligible subjects will be randomized to receive either placebo or Atx08-001. Study drug will be administered orally twice a day for 7 days. Subjects will be evaluated for neuropathic pain intensity at regular intervals over a 6 hour period on Day 1 following the first dose of study drug. They will then be discharged from the clinic and will complete diary assessments of pain severity twice a day at home. Subjects will be asked to return to the clinic on Day 8 to complete their last set of pain evaluations.
