Study to Evaluate Automated Intensity Management in Patients Undergoing a BSC SCS Temporary Trial...
Chronic PainIntractable Pain5 moreThe purpose of the study is to assess the feasibility of using information extracted from physiologic signals to automatically adjust stimulation in patients undergoing Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS).
Sensory Testing of Multiple Forms of Spinal Cord Stimulation for Pain
Chronic PainFailed Back Surgery Syndrome2 moreDoctors sometimes treat chronic pain with devices that send mild electrical currents into the spinal cord. This type of treatment is referred to as neurostimulation. A common form of neurostimulation therapy is spinal cord stimulation (SCS). In this study, researchers want to learn more about how SCS affects pain processing and relieves pain. The researchers will examine multiple forms of SCS in chronic pain patients who are receiving SCS from their own doctors as part of their standard of care. During the study, participants will be asked to complete a variety of evaluations at certain time points.
Virtual Walking Intervention for Neuropathic Pain in Spinal Cord Injury
Spinal Cord InjuriesNeuropathic PainThe purpose of this study is to determine if playing a virtual reality walking game can help improve neuropathic pain in adults with chronic spinal cord injury.
Prevention of Paclitaxel-induced Neuropathic Pain in Patients With Planned Paclitaxel Chemotherapy...
Neuropathic PainChemotherapy EffectPhase IIa clinical trial will be conducted with patients requiring in-label paclitaxel-chemotherapy due to ovarian or breast cancer. The efficacy of a 12-week telmisartan treatment, starting one week before planned paclitaxel-administration to prevent PIPNP (paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathic pain) will be assessed by measurement of occurrence of clinical symptoms of PIPNP as well as lipid profiles
Spinal Cord Stimulation and Physiotherapy for Treatment of Neuropathic Pain
Neuropathic PainThe study evaluates the combined effect of optimized pharmacological treatment, spinal cord stimulation and physiotherapy on pain relief, health-related quality of life and physical function in patients with neuropathic pain. All patients will receive optimized pharmacological treatment before start of spinal cord stimulation treatment. Half of the participants will be randomized to physiotherapy before start of spinal cord stimulation treatment while the other half will start physiotherapy after spinal cord stimulation treatment.
Focused Ultrasound for the Treatment of Neuropathic Pain
Neuropathic PainA possible treatment approach for neuropathic pain would employ a process designed to promote healthier function of the ventral posteromedial (VPM) and ventral posterolateral (VPL) thalamic nuclei. This study is designed to employ focused ultrasound technology to target the VPM and VPL thalamus among participants with ongoing neuropathic pain syndromes to evaluate for tolerability and early efficacy.
Ketamine Infusion for Neuropathic Pain in Brachial Plexus Injuries
Brachial Plexus InjuryThe purpose of this study is to assess pre- and postoperative neuropathic pain in patients with traumatic brachial plexus injuries to determine if intraoperative ketamine infusion affect neuropathic pain associated with avulsion injuries of the brachial plexus.
Rhomboid Intercostal Plane Block on Chronic Pain Incidence and Acute Pain Scores After Mastectomy...
Breast CancerPostoperative Pain4 moreRhomboid intercostal block is used to block lateral cutaneous branches of intercostal nerves between T3 and T9 dermatomes. RIB has been reported to be successful in attenuating acute pain following breast surgeries. However, it's effect on chronic pain has not been evaluated yet. The primary hypothesis of the study is that the incidence of chronic pain of the patients who will receive Rhomboid intercostal block (RIB) following breast cancer surgery will be lower than the patients who will receive no block intervention at the postoperative 3rd month. The secondary hypothesis is that the incidence ofchronic pain of the patients who will receive Rhomboid intercostal block (RIB) following breast cancer surgery will be lower than the patients who will receive no block intervention at the postoperative 6th month. An other secondary hypothesis is that the total BPI-SF scores will be lower in the RIB group than control group at the postoperative 3rd and the 6th months.
Teleconsultations Hypnosis Sessions for Patients With Peripheral Chronic Neuropathic Pain
Peripheral NeuropathyPainThe aim of this study is to assess the feasibility of hypnosis sessions performed in teleconsultations and led by a nurse, for patients with peripheral chronic neuropathic pain. Acceptability, satisfaction and effects (on pain and psychological distress) are also evaluated, comparing patients who have benefited from teleconsultations and those who did not.
Lidocaine and Magnesium and Ketamine in Gynecological Surgery
PainPostoperative14 moreThe aim of this study will be to investigate the effect of a combination of intravenous infusions of lidocaine and magnesium versus a combination of intravenous infusions of lidocaine and ketamine versus an intravenous infusion of lidocaine alone on recovery profile, quality of recovery and postoperative pain after elective gynecological surgery
