RATIONALE: Giving caspofungin acetate may be effective in preventing or controlling fever and neutropenia caused by chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation. PURPOSE: Clinical trial to study the effectiveness of caspofungin acetate in treating children who have fever and neutropenia caused by a weakened immune system.

RATIONALE: Understanding the emotional needs of spouses or others who are living with and caring for patients who have undergone stem cell transplantation may help improve the quality of life of both the caregivers and the patients. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the emotional needs of caregivers of patients who have undergone stem cell transplant.

RATIONALE: Voriconazole may be effective in preventing systemic fungal infections following chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of voriconazole in preventing systemic fungal infections in children who have neutropenia after receiving chemotherapy for leukemia, lymphoma, or aplastic anemia or in preparation for bone marrow or stem cell transplantation.

The purpose of this study was to assess the incidence of human anti-chimeric antibody (HACA) in high-risk neuroblastoma patients treated with Unituxin combination therapy.

RATIONALE: Studying samples of semen from cancer survivors in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. PURPOSE: This phase I research study is looking at the presence of donor-derived DNA in semen samples form cancer survivors who underwent donor stem cell transplant.

Children with primary resistant or relapsed neuroblastoma who do not achieve remission with conventional chemotherapy have extremely dismal prognosis. A novel treatment strategy combining tumor targeted radioisotope treatment with metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) and immunotherapeutic effect of haploidentical stem cell transplantation (haploSCT) followed by low-dose donor lymphocyte infusions will be piloted. The use of the isotope is aimed to decrease pre-transplant tumour burden. Reduced intensity conditioning containing Fludarabine, Thiotepa and Melfalan will enable sustained engraftment as well as will serve as additional anti-tumor treatment. A prompt natural killer (NK)-cell mediated tumour control may be achieved by haploidentical stem cell transplantation. The investigators hypothesize that tumour cells potentially evading NK-cell mediated immunity may be targeted by infused donor T-cells and eliminated by either MHC-dependent manner or through a bystander effect. The possible graft versus tumor effect will be evaluated in children with therapy resistant neuroblastoma.

RATIONALE: Studying a diagnostic biomarker test in blood samples from patients who have undergone a donor stem cell transplant for cancer may help doctors plan treatment. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying an immunologic diagnostic blood test to see how well it works in predicting side-effects in patients with hematologic cancer or other disorders who have undergone a donor stem cell transplant.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as topotecan, vincristine, and doxorubicin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving topotecan together with vincristine and doxorubicin works in treating young patients with refractory stage 4 neuroblastoma.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs to kill more tumor cells. Chemotherapy, given before and after surgery, followed by peripheral stem cell transplantation may be an effective treatment for metastatic neuroblastoma. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy, given before and after surgery, followed by peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have metastatic neuroblastoma.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Radiotherapy plus Endostar(Recombinant Human Endostatin) in patients with Pediatric Neuroblastoma.
