The treatment of neuropathic pain ist still a challenge. A new promising therapy is the use of capsaicin on skin. The investigators first experiences with capsaicin in patients with peripheral nerve injury showed changes in the sensibility, which achieved its maximal extent after four weeks and was regressive, but not completely abolished 1,5 months after application. In this study the investigators hope to specify, how long and in which way exactly this changes in sensibility appear.

This is a prospective clinical study to assess the performance of the prosthesis according to a composite success criterion. The clinical and functional results and the patient's quality of life up to 24 months of follow-up will also be recorded. The use of pre-emptive analgesia to prevent pain following sternotomy for cardiac surgery

Some patients with dry eye may have severe disabling neuropathic pain. They describe spontaneous pain, dysesthesia, hyperalgesia or even allodynia. It is classical to note an important discordance between the high intensity of the symptoms and the poverty of the clinical signs. These pains are often unrecognized and therefore often not sufficiently treated. A significant impact on patient's quality of life may occur. The concept of ocular neuropathic pain being relatively recent, few studies have focused on the subject at present. Our study aims to shed light on these pains in patients consulting for dry eyes at the Ophthalmological Foundation A. de Rothschild. The objective of our study is to describe precisely the characteristics of neuropathic eye pain and the visual, general and psychological repercussions in these patients.

Readmissions increasingly serve as a metric of hospital performance, inviting quality improvement initiatives in both medicine and surgery. Recently, a readmission reduction program in the United States was associated with significantly shorter length of stay, earlier discharge, and reduced 30-day readmission after elective neurosurgery. These results underscore the importance of patient education and surveillance after hospital discharge, and it would be beneficial to test whether the same approach yields beneficial results in a different health system, the NHS. In this study, the investigators will replicate the Transitional Care Program (TCP) published by Robertson et al.(Journal of Neurosurgery 2017) with the goal of decreasing length of stay, improving discharge efficiency, and reducing readmissions in neurosurgical patients by optimizing patient education and post-discharge surveillance.

This is a single center exploratory study in subjects suffering from chronic refractory pain to identify cellular, molecular and protein biomarkers within cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The study aims to identify any form of correlation between biological content of CSF and pain/treatment success. The study population include individuals suffering from chronic pain which has not been effectively treated with pharmacological treatment, medical intervention or alternative non-invasive treatments who have been scheduled for spinal cord stimulation.
