Hearing Outcomes Using Fractionated Proton Radiation Therapy for Vestibular Schwannoma

Vestibular SchwannomaAcoustic Neuroma

In this research study we are looking at another type of radiation called proton radiation which is known to spare surrounding normal tissues from radiation. The proton radiation will be delivered using fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT) to improve localization of the small tumor target. Proton radiation delivers minimal radiation beyond the area of the tumor. This may reduce side effects that patients would normally experience with conventional radiation therapy. In this research study, we are looking to determine the effects of fractionated proton radiotherapy on long-term hearing preservation and controlling tumor growth.

C-RFA of Residual Limb Neuroma

Phantom Limb PainNeuroma Amputation

To assess changes in pain, physical function, and health-related quality of life in patients with post-amputation neuroma-associated residual limb pain after cooled radiofrequency ablation.

Cryoanalgesia for the Treatment of Pain in Subjects With Morton's Neuroma

Morton's NeuromaPain Management

This is a Proof-of-Concept Trial to define the safety, efficacy and feasibility of a cryoanalgesic device (iovera°®) for the treatment of pain in subjects diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma, who have failed conservative therapies.

Study of RAD001 for Treatment of NF2-related Vestibular Schwannoma

Neurofibromatosis Type 2Neuroma1 more

The purpose of the study is to determine if RAD001 treatment will shrink or slow the growth of the vestibular schwannoma(s) in Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) patients. Secondary objectives include determining if RAD001 treatment will improve hearing ability in NF2 patients. RAD001 is an oral drug that is approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for other types of tumors, it is not approved by the FDA for treatment of NF2 related tumors.

Radiofrequency Before to Surgical Removal of a Recalcitrant Morton´s Neuroma

Morton NeuromaRadriofrequency

The purpose of this study is to perform a radiofrequency procedure prior to the removal of morton's neuroma. This procedure would be performed to check in which percentage of the nerve ablation has been performed, and whether the current protocol is performed correctly or parts of the nerve remain intact.

US and MRI of the Forefoot: Intermetatarsal Bursitis or Morton's Neuroma

Intermetatarsal BursitisMorton Neuroma1 more

The aim of this study is to investigate the incidence of intermetatarsal bursitis and Morton's neuroma in patients with metatarsalgia (i.e. pain in the forefoot) and control subjects by diagnostic imaging with ultrasound and MRI.

Effect of Prophylactic TMR and RPNI on Neuroma and Phantom Limb Pain

AmputationNeuroma Amputation2 more

The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficacy of novel interventions in post-amputation surgical care (specifically Targeted Muscle Reinnervation and Regenerative Peripheral Nerve Interface) on post-amputation pain and functional outcomes at the time of amputation. These novel interventions have been shown to be successful in treating the downstream effects of amputations (pain, phantom limb pain, neuroma pain, etc.), but has not been studied in a randomized manner at the time of amputation.

Pain After Proximal Digital Amputation Prevention

PainAmputation Neuroma1 more

Finger amputations are common and may be complicated by debilitating nerve pain. This study seeks to determine if nerve pain after digital amputation can be more effectively prevented with either of two new surgical techniques-targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) or regenerative peripheral nerve interfaces (RPNI)-compared to standard treatment by traction neurectomy (TN).
