A Study on the Safety and Efficacy of Nitric Oxide Gel in Subjects With Painful Diabetic Neuropathy...

Neuropathic Pain

This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 2-period crossover, 12-week trial to be conducted in 50 subjects with painful diabetic neuropathy. The objective of this trial is to assess the safety and efficacy of NO gel, a NO donor, as compared with a placebo gel, in symptom relief of subjects with painful diabetic neuropathy.

A Research Study of V3381 for the Treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain

PainDiabetic Neuropathies

The objective of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug, V3381, for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathic (DPN) pain (pain in one's feet and legs, or even in one's hands and arms, sometimes experienced by people with diabetes). An investigational drug is one that is not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and/or Health Canada.

Safety and Efficacy of Gabapentin in Postherpetic Neuralgia

NeuralgiaPostherpetic

Gabapentin and pregabalin are treatments for some types of neuropathic pain, including postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). However, these treatments usually need to be taken 3 times a day for effective pain control. The purpose of this study is to determine whether a new gabapentin tablet, which only needs to be taken once or twice a day, is safe and effective for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia.

A Study of Intra-dermal Injection of Botulinum Toxin Type A for the Diabetic Neuropathic Foot Pain...

Diabetes MellitusNeuropathic Pain

Effective treatment of neuropathic foot pain in diabetic patients is very important to improve their quality of life. There are many medications used to reduce the diabetic neuropathic pain, including anticonvulsants, anti-depressants or analgesics, but none is universally satisfied. A few previous studies employing BOTOX® i.d. injection for control of trigeminal neuralgia, post-herpes neuralgia indicate that BOTOX® was effective in controlling neuropathic pain. Intradermal injection of BOTOX® to the dorsum of the foot in diabetics should be effective in controlling diabetes-associated polyneuropathic pain of the foot.

Study of NGX-4010 for the Treatment of Painful HIV-Associated Neuropathy (HIV-AN) or Postherpetic...

Herpes ZosterNeuralgia3 more

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of NGX-4010 administered at intervals of no less than 12 weeks over 1 year, based on the presence or return of pain, for the treatment of painful HIV-AN and PHN. Participation is limited to former study subjects from previous trials of NGX-4010 at selected sites.

Effects of Venlafaxine on Chronic Neuropathic Pain Following Spinal Cord Injury

Neuropathic PainPain1 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the pain-relieving effects of venlafaxine hydrochloride (Effexor) in chronic neuropathic (burning, shock-like, electric) pain after spinal cord injury (SCI). Although a number of medications have been used to treat SCI pain, no drug has been consistently helpful, and, therefore, many people with SCI continue to have difficult chronic pain. Venlafaxine is a new anti-depressant drug that has not been tested for use in SCI neuropathic pain, but has been helpful for other types of neuropathic pain.
