Neurotoxicity in Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL): An International Observational...
Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL)This research is being done to investigate cognition in long term survivors of Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL). Sometimes caregivers as well as patients who no longer have the disease report cognitive problems such as reduced memory or attentional dysfunction and decreased quality of life. Unfortunately, little is known about what may contribute to this cognitive dysfunction in part because PCNSL is a rare disease and sensitive tests have not often been used in the research studies. This project is being conducted to help understand what factors, such as radiation, may contribute to cognitive dysfunction and better define the relationship between brain structure and thinking in people who have had PCNSL.
Compression Gloves to Reduce Albumin-binding Paclitaxel Induced Peripheral Sensory and Motor Neurotoxicity...
Peripheral NeuropathyNanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel has greater efficacy and favorable safety profile than standard paclitaxel. However, rate of neuropathy caused by nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel is higher than standard paclitaxel, and is one of its dose-limited toxicities. Previously, compression therapy by surgical gloves has shown effectiveness in preventing chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. We designed this multi-center prospective self-control phase III study to investigate the efficacy of compression gloves to reduce albumin-binding paclitaxel induced sensory and motor neurotoxicity of upper extremities.
Switching From One Type of Anti-rejection Drug (Tacrolimus or Cyclosporine) to Another (Sirolimus)...
Side Effects of Calcineurin InhibitorsRenal Toxicity3 moreSirolimus can be safely switched as early as 90 days after liver transplantation with excellent tolerability and amelioration of the calcineurin inhibitor toxicity that initiated the switch.
ONSD and Neurotoxicity in Liver Transplant
Liver Transplant; ComplicationsThis is a diagnostic test accuracy study. The investigators measure optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) by ultrasound on the eye during living donor liver transplantation operation at 5 minutes after reperfusion to predict the occurrence of early tacrolimus neurotoxicity after liver transplantation. We measured the ONSD at 4 timings: (T1) Post induction and before surgical incision, (T2) Portal vein clamping, (T3) 5 minutes after reperfusion, and (T4) 30 min after reperfusion.
Quality of Life and Care Needs of Patients With Persistent or Recurrent Ovarian Cancer, Fallopian...
AnxietyFatigue21 moreThis clinical trial studies the quality of life and care needs of patients with persistent or recurrent ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or peritoneal cancer. Studying quality of life in patients with cancer may help determine the effects of gynecologic cancer and may help improve the quality of life for future cancer survivors.
Treatment Outcome and Quality of Life in Patients With Pediatric Extra-Cranial Germ Cell Tumors...
Childhood Germ Cell TumorExtragonadal Germ Cell Tumor8 moreRATIONALE: Treatment for pediatric extracranial germ cell tumors may cause side effects and secondary cancers later in life. A study that evaluates patients after receiving combination chemotherapy or surgery may help doctors understand the side effects and secondary cancers that occur later in life. PURPOSE: This study is looking at treatment outcome and quality of life in patients with pediatric extracranial germ cell tumors previously treated on clinical trial CCLG-GC-1979-01 or CCLG-GC-1989-01.
Association of Cefepime Trough Levels With Clinical Efficacy and Neurotoxicity in Patients With...
PharmacokineticsPharmacodynamics1 moreIn this prospective monocenter observational study, the objective was to determine a safe and effective therapeutic window for cefepime in patients with neutropenic fever.
Anesthetic Neurotoxicity: the Association Between General Anesthesia and the Level of Plasma Neurofilament...
General Anesthetics ToxicityA prospective controlled single centre study designed to determine the association between the exposure to anesthetic agents and the pre and postoperative changes in plasma Neurofilament Light levels, biomarkers of neurological injury, in patients with similar surgical intervention but different anesthetic techniques. Secondary endpoints: Association between the changes in plasma Neurofilament Light levels and the development of post-operative neurocognitive disorders as acute delirium.
Impact of Adjuvant FOLFOX on Quality of Life and Sensory Neurotoxicity in Patients With Advanced...
Stomach NeoplasmsThe primary objective of this trial is to determine the impact of the FOLFOX regimen on quality of life and the incidence of chemotherapy induced neurotoxicity.
Assessment of Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neurotoxicity Using a Point-of-care Nerve Conduction...
CancerThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of the Mediracer® NCS device in early detection of CIPN in patients receiving potentially neurotoxic substance (vincristine, oxaliplatin or docetaxel) as a part of their chemotherapy regimen.
