Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy + Safety Planning For Suicidal Behavior
Monopolar DepressionSingle Episode or Unspecified1 moreThe purpose of this study is to combine and adapt Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) + Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) for individuals with suicidal behavior and to determine its feasibility, acceptability, safety and preliminary effectiveness. An exploratory aim is to collect data on the cognitive changes underlying treatment gains.
Mentalization-Based Group Therapy for Adolescents
Deliberate Self-HarmThis is a prospective parallel group design of group-based Mentalization-Based Therapy for Adolescents (MBT-A) through a pilot randomised controlled trial comparing group-based MBT-A plus treatment as usual (TAU) to TAU alone. As a pilot study, we aim to determine: the effectiveness of our recruitment strategies; compliance with protocol/procedures; trends towards reduced self-harm.
A Feasibility Study of N-acetylcysteine for Self-injurious Behavior in Children With Autism Spectrum...
Autism Spectrum DisorderThe purpose of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of a 9-week, randomized trial of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) compared to placebo in 14 children (age 5 to 12 years) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a moderate level of repetitive self-injurious behavior (SIB). Additional aims are to evaluate the positive predictive value of a screening method to classify children with automatically maintained self-injurious behavior; to evaluate the preliminary efficacy of NAC for reducing repetitive SIB in children with ASD; and to evaluate biomarkers and possible mechanisms of action of NAC in children with ASD.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Nonsuicidal Self-injury
Nonsuicidal Self-InjuryAnxietyThe goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for individuals who engage in nonsuicidal self-injury(NSSI) and have comorbid anxiety. With the data collected from the study, the investigators will test the following hypotheses: Acceptance and commitment therapy will lead to reductions in anxiety and self-harm behaviors in non-suicidal self-injury individuals.
Signatures of N-Ac for Non-Suicidal Self-Injury in Adolescents
Self-HarmDepression1 moreTo measure NAC-induced changes to concentrations of glutathione (GSH) in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) as measured by magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in 36 adolescents and young adults with NSSI (12 in each group: high, low, and placebo).
Evaluation of the Efficacy of Non-drug Therapy (SMS Intervention) for Adolescents With NSSI
Non-suicidal Self-injuryIn this proposed study, Text messages are used to intervene in the NSSI behavior of adolescents, and the efficacy of this intervention method is evaluated, as well as the internal mechanism of adolescents' NSSI behavior is discussed.
Brief Admission Skane: Replacing General Admission for Individuals With Self-harm and Acute Risk...
Self-Injurious BehaviorSuicidal Ideation5 moreThe purpose of the study is to test a standardized version of brief admission (BA) through randomized controlled trial (RCT). The main objective is to evaluate if BA can serve as a crisis management model for individuals with recurrent self-harm, including suicide attempts and at least three symptoms of Borderline Personality disorder. Participants will be allocated to BA + Treatment as Usual (TAU) or TAU.
Effectiveness of PTSD Treatment For Suicidal and Multi-Diagnostic Clients
Post-traumatic Stress DisorderSuicide1 moreThe present project has two primary aims: (1) to examine the effectiveness of a multi-component implementation strategy in improving adoption and adherence to the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure (DBT PE) protocol, and (2) to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of the DBT PE protocol in a sample of individuals receiving DBT in public mental health agencies. This study uses a hybrid type 2 effectiveness-implementation design to simultaneously test the clinical effectiveness of DBT + DBT PE and to evaluate an adaptive, multi-component implementation strategy. The effectiveness trial will use a quasi-experimental, controlled design to evaluate outcomes among DBT clients with PTSD who do versus do not receive the DBT PE protocol and outcomes will be benchmarked to those obtained in research settings.
RCT of the Clinical and Cost Effectiveness of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Delivered Remotely...
Depression and Self-HarmA randomized controlled trial to test the whether remote delivery of cognitive based therapy (CBT) is clinically and cost effective when compared to treatment as usual in adolescents and young adults with depression who self-harm.
Internet-delivered Emotion Regulation Individual Therapy for Adolescents With NSSI - An Open Pilot...
Nonsuicidal Self-InjuryThe primary aim is to investigate the effectiveness of an Internet-delivered Emotion Regulation Individual Therapy for Adolescents (ERITA) with nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI).
