For all countries, chronic liver disease and liver cirrhosis is one of the important disease burdens. Malnutrition is an important complication of liver cirrhosis, which always runs through the course of liver cirrhosis. According to a lot of scientific research evidence, as the consensus of experts all over the world, malnutrition in patients with liver cirrhosis is closely related to poor outcome. Therefore, early and accurate identification of the risk of malnutrition is very important to improve the prognosis of patients with liver cirrhosis. The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between malnutrition-related indexes and prognosis in patients with liver cirrhosis. 2000 patients with liver cirrhosis were prospectively included, laboratory indexes related to malnutrition and other evaluation indexes were recorded, and long-term follow-up was made to observe the short-term and long-term prognosis of patients with liver cirrhosis. At the same time, a prognostic prediction model was established based on multivariate Cox regression, and a series of in-depth studies and verification were carried out on this basis.

Undernutrition is a leading global risk factor of tuberculosis (TB) and a prevalent comorbidity associated with TB. In Benin, the National TB Program systematically provides nutritional support to all persons with TB (PWTB), distributing prepared foods to hospitalized patients and food baskets during outpatient care. In Togo, the PWTB population is similar to that of Benin; however, Togo does not have a systematic program in place to provide nutritional support to these patients. The investigators will perform a prospective cohort analysis using anonymized TB patient data from the National TB Programs of Benin and Togo. Participants enrolled in Benin will receive nutritional support from the hospital while those enrolled in Togo will not. Participants in Togo who do not receive nutritional support will serve as a control. Unfavorable outcomes in both groups such as treatment failure, death, or relapse will be compared. The results from this study should help to shape TB programs in the future by incorporating nutritional support.

Trial Design: This is a feasibility randomised controlled trial. Aim: The study aims to assess the feasibility of conducting a randomised controlled trial using a digital health tool (Keep-On-Keep-Up Nutrition, KOKU-Nut) to improve dietary intake in community-dwelling older adults. Objectives: Is it feasible and practical to run KOKU-Nut study as a powered randomised controlled trial. Adherence to the intervention, motivations, barriers and facilitators of engaging with KOKU-Nut Study population: Community-dwelling adults aged 65 and older Intervention: Participants in the intervention group will be asked to engage with KOKU-Nut at least 3 times a week throughout the 12-week period. A crib sheet and contact details for the research team will be available if participants require additional support to help with technical issues. Control: Participants will continue with usual care and receive a leaflet developed by Age UK about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Timing and duration 3 month intervention with interviews carried out approximately one week after the intervention period

Early Education Programme in Malnourished Cancer Patients

The innovation is based on the proposal to integrate the patient, just after the announcement, before or at the beginning of the treatment (before the third session of chemotherapy or radiotherapy), in a 5-day training course in a clinical site that inspires peace of mind involving the family caregiver. The therapeutic education programme is led by a multidisciplinary team whose approach is centred on dietetics, supported by tools for encouragement via socio-aesthetics, physical activity and sophrology. The educational objective is to promote the autonomy of the patient as well as the family caregiver, to involve them in the care pathway alongside the practitioners, with a view to contain undernutrition and reverse the spiral that increases the risks of morbi-mortality. The aim of the study is to assess patient adherence to the device, the technical and economic feasibility, and its impact on quality of life.

Enhancing Milk Consumption by Vulnerable Household Members in Rural Nepal

Diet quality is generally poor in rural Nepal, especially among vulnerable household members. Consumption of milk (and other animal source foods [ASF]) could contribute to improvements in diet quality. However, multiple cultural, structural and economic barriers constrain the inclusion of ASF in the diet in these households, even though most raise dairy animals. This study will characterize these barriers in detail conduct a randomized controlled trial to test a multi-dimensional behavior change intervention designed to increase ASF/milk consumption by young children 6-60 months, adolescent girls 10-15 years, and women of child-bearing age (WCBA). Matched clusters of villages in Kapilbastu and Nawalparasi districts (Nepal) will be randomized to Intervention or Control status. Household surveys will be conducted at baseline and 12 months later to collect demographic, diet, feeding practices, nutrition knowledge, etc. Fathers and adolescent girls will respond to mini-surveys. Growth parameters of children, adolescent girls, and WCBA will be assessed. The intervention consists of 4 components: 1) didactic training (mothers, fathers, adolescent girls), 2) participatory learning activities (mothers, fathers, adolescent girls), 3) model kitchens (mothers, adolescent girls), and 4) Nutrition Club (adolescent girls). The primary outcome will be the impact of the intervention on diet, household feeding practices, and nutrition knowledge.
