A Study to Compare the Drug Levels of Atazanavir and Cobicistat Between the Coadministration of...
Healthy ParticipantsThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the drug absorption of atazanavir and cobicistat between the coadministration of the mini-tablet formulations in applesauce or chocolate pudding followed by water and the coadministration of atazanavir oral powder in applesauce and cobicistat oral tablet followed by water in healthy adult participants.
Prognostic Value of Sarcopenia and Nutritional Status in Early-stage Non-small Cell Lung Cancer...
SarcopeniaNon Small Cell Lung Cancer1 moreGrowing evidence has confirmed that the prognosis of lung cancer is not only related to the stage of disease, but also to the physiological and psychological situation of the patients. Malignant tumors are often associated with weakness and cachexia, leading to less physical activities and worse moods. However, few studies that have attempted to investigate the impact of nutritional status on the prognosis of NSCLC. Existing applications of nutritional scoring systems in early-stage of NSCLC are very limited. Therefore, this study aims to observe the correlation between nutritional status and the prognosis of patients with early-stage NSCLC, to clarify the value in predicting the overall survival rate and progression-free survival rate of NSCLC patients, and to offer evidence for alleviating the social and economic burden of NSCLC.
The Effectiveness of a High-Protein Liquid Dietary Supplementation
MalnutritionNutritional Status4 moreThis study was a double-blind randomized controlled trial conducted to assess the effectiveness of high protein liquid dietary supplementation in malnourished hospitalized patients. The patients were assessed for their nutritional status based on ESPEN 2015 criteria. Patients who experienced malnutrition will be divided into 2 groups, namely the control group which was given a normal protein liquid diet, while the intervention group was given high protein liquid diet supplementation as much as 2 bottles (200 mL) per day for 7-10 days. Furthermore, the nutritional status of the patient was assessed.
Oral Nutritional Supplement for the Patient With or at Risk of Malnutrition
MalnutritionIn case of acute and chronic illness nutritional problems are widespread, and a reduced dietary intake in combination with effects of catabolic disease rapidly lead to malnutrition. A high prevalence of protein energy malnutrition in patients has been reported. A close relation between malnutrition and re-admission rate, cost of hospital care in terms of length of stay in hospital as well as mortality has been documented. A Cochrane review of the use of oral nutritional supplementation suggested that oral nutrition not only provided nutrients, but also has significant improvements on psychological and social functions, possibly through enhancing sensation of taste and flavor which is an important mediator of pleasure and well-being. Therefore, an oral option of nutrition is always considered as the first choice of nutritional intervention, in particular in situations where nutritional interventions, such as assisted feeding, are difficult, time-consuming and demanding due to advanced morbidity and slow responses. In this randomized controlled trial, the investigators will explore the gaps of nutritional needs and the potential use of nutrition supplementation in the management of malnutrition among patients in Hong Kong. The investigators aim to improve the nutrient intakes and the nutritional status of participants through a specially formulated oral nutrition supplement titled "Fresubin® Powder Fibre" to reverse malnutrition status due to acute and chronic illness. Fresubin® Powder Fibre is a nutritionally complete powder product to be reconstituted in different caloric densities (1.0 to 1.5 kcal/ml) and containing high quality protein and vitamin D for the dietary management of participants with or at the risk of malnutrition.
Effect of Compound Amino Acid Tablets on Nutritional Status of Patients With Lung Cancer
Amino Acid DeficiencyMalnutrition1 moreTo investigate whether compound amino acid supplementation can further promote protein synthesis and improve nutritional status for lung cancer patients.
Integrated Livestock Management for Nutrition in Children Under Five Years of Age in Chad
MalnutritionChildThe main objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of a livestock management intervention, with considerations for animal food security, water contamination from animals, and nutrition counseling, in reducing the risk of acute malnutrition among children under the age of 5 years in Kanem and Bahr El Ghazel (BeG) in Chad.
Evaluation of MF4637 for Correcting the Omega-3 Nutritional Deficiency in NAFLD Patients
Non Alcoholic Fatty LiverThis study is a prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial to determine the effect of high concentrate omega-3 capsules on the omega-3 status of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver.
Nutritional Intervention in Geriatric Patients
MalnutritionThis study aims to investigate the effect of a multi-disciplinary nutritional intervention program in geriatric nutritional at risk patients. The study is carried out as randomized controlled trial. The intervention consists of an individual dietary plan conducted by a clinical dietician before discharge in combination with three follow-up visits after discharge (1, 4 and 8 weeks).

A Multi-Component Behavioral Nutrition Intervention for Homebound Elderly
UndernutritionThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of a multi-level self-management intervention to improve nutritional intake in a group of homebound older adults (HOAs) who are at especially high risk for undernutrition. The study will be guided by the theoretical approaches of the Ecological Model and Social Cognitive Theory and will use a prospective randomized controlled design to estimate whether individually tailored counseling focusing on social and behavioral aspects of eating results in increased caloric intake and improved nutrition-related health outcomes in a sample of 104 HOAs. The investigators hypothesize that intervention at these levels will improve caloric intake and indirectly improve health outcomes.
