Effect on Obsessive-Compulsive Beliefs and Symptoms of MCT-OCD
Obsessive-Compulsive DisorderObjective: Since Metacognitive Training for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (MCT-OCD) targets and interferes with dysfunctional (meta-)cognitive beliefs, metacognitions, cognitive biases and coping strategies that contribute to the development and maintenance of OC symptoms, it is predicted that MCT-OCD can be highly effective on obsessive-compulsive beliefs and symptoms. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of metacognitive training (MCT-OCD) given to patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder on obsessive-compulsive beliefs and symptoms.Type of Study: The study was planned as a single-blind randomized controlled trial study. Dependent and Independent Variables of the Research: Dependent Variables: Padua Inventory, Obsessive Beliefs Scale and Beliefs About Rituals Scale mean scores. Independent Variables: Metacognitive Training for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Control Variables: Age, gender, marital status, educational status, medicine use, and hospitalization history. Place of Research: The research will be conducted in the Psychiatry Polyclinic of Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital in Gaziantep City Center. Population and Sample of the Research: The population of the research will be the patients who received treatment with a diagnosis of OCD according to DSM-5 in the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic of Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital at the time of the study, and the sample will consist of individuals who meet the inclusion criteria of the study. In this study, a priori power analysis was performed by using the G Power 3.9.1 program to calculate the sample size. The studies were examined (Miegel et al. 2022) and the expected confidence intervals of the Obsessive Beliefs Scale were determined, while the confidence interval was α=0.05, the power of the test (1-β) was 0.80, the effect size was d=0.6630086, while the experimental group was 37 and the control group was 37. A total of 74 patients were calculated. Considering that there will be losses in the research, it is planned to study with 80 people (40 experimental and 40 control groups).
Pharmacogenetics of Antidepressant-Induced Disinhibition
Obsessive-Compulsive DisorderAnxiety Disorders2 moreThe purpose of this study is to identify pharmacogenetic profiles associated with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI)-induced behavioral disinhibition in children with Major depressive disorder (MDD), anxiety disorders and/or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) that could be used clinically to reduce the incidence of this adverse event and improve health outcomes.
The Effect of Immersive Virtual Reality Treatment With Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Obsessive-Compulsive...
Obsessive-Compulsive DisorderVirtual RealityThis study will evaluate the clinical effectiveness ofthe Immersive Virtual Reality alongside exprosure and response Prevention (ERP) Treatment in cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Obsessive-compulsive Disorder, and the underlying neural mechanism by electroencephalography (EEG) and eye-tracking methodology .
Evaluation Study: Obsessive-compulsive Disorders in Childhood and Young Adulthood
Obsessive-compulsive DisorderObsessive-compulsive disorders are very damaging illnesses that can already manifest in childhood and adolescence. With an average prevalence from 1 - 3%, they are one of the most frequently diagnosed psychiatric illness in these age groups. With the further use of data, the treatment success can be significantly improved; causal variables/predictors can be recognized, understood and taken carefully into account. The anticipated incremental knowledge will ultimately help children and young people with obsessive-compulsive disorders to receive faster and more effective treatment.
Impact of Attention on Obsessive Thoughts Through THOUGHT
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder OCDImpact of attention on obsessive through the THOUGHT-scale (Troublesome Human Obsessions and Untargeted General Habitual Thoughts Scale): a description of the content of thoughts according to the level of attention demanded by the environment in patients with obsessive disorder compulsive disorder (OCD) and patients without OCD" Validation of THOUGHTS.
Cognitive Bias Modification for OCD
Obsessive-Compulsive DisorderObsessive-compulsive Disorders and SymptomsThis study will conduct the development and preliminary evaluation of Cognitive Bias Modification for Interpretation (CBM-I) and Approach Avoidance Training (AAT) as augmentations to treatment as usual for OCD and related disorders. CBM-I refers to computerized interventions designed to directly manipulate interpretation bias through repeated practice on a training task, thereby inducing cognitive changes in a relatively automatic or implicit manner. In AAT, automatic approach tendencies toward feared stimuli are re-trained. Specifically, this study will examine the feasibility, acceptability, and clinical outcomes associated with CBM-I and AAT. Adults with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders will be recruited from a treatment program for these disorders and participants will be randomly assigned to either receive: 1) eight sessions of CBM-I or eight sessions of psychoeducation as a control condition, or 2) AAT or eight sessions of an inactive (sham) version of the AAT training.
Evaluation of the Long Term Efficacy and Durability of the BrainsWay Deep TMS in OCD Subjects
Obsessive-Compulsive DisorderA Prospective Double Blind Randomized Controlled Trial to Evaluate the Long Term Efficacy and Durability of the BrainsWay Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS) in Obsessive-Compulsive Subjects
Measuring Automated Behavioral Observations & Vocal Expressions (ABOVE)
OCDObsessive-Compulsive DisorderThe investigators propose to synchronize automated measurements of behavior - head, body, and face dynamics, gaze, and vocal prosody - with simultaneous recordings of brain activity in clinically relevant contexts.
Brief-intensive CBT Versus Once-weekly CBT in Anxiety-related Disorders
Anxiety DisordersObsessive-Compulsive Disorder2 moreThe goal of this clinical trial is to compare brief-intensive cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) with regular weekly CBT in people with anxiety-related disorders. The main question to answer is: will brief-intensive CBT improve functioning (work, family, social) more and faster than does regular weekly CBT? Participants will be asked to follow CBT treatment (20 sessions of 45 minutes in both conditions), and participate in 7 measurements with a total duration of 5 hours over 1 year. Researchers will compare: Brief-intensive CBT: 16 sessions in 2 weeks + 4 follow-up sessions within 3 months Regular CBT with 20 weekly sessions in 6 months

Treatment Resistant DepressionMajor Depressive Episode5 moreThe purpose of this study is to examine the effects of interventional/procedural therapies for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). These treatments include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), racemic ketamine infusion and intranasal esketamine insufflation. The investigators will obtain various indicators, or biomarkers, of a depressed individuals' state before, during, and/or after these treatments. Such biomarkers include neurobehavioral testing, neuroimaging, electroencephalography, cognitive testing, vocal recordings, epi/genetic testing, and autonomic nervous system measures (i.e. "fight-or-flight" response). The results obtained from this study may provide novel antidepressant treatment response biomarkers, with the future goal of targeting a given treatment to an individual patient ("personalized medicine").
