Evaluation of Antihypertensive Drugs in OSA Patients

HypertensionObstructive Sleep Apnea

This prospective cohort study aimed to assess the phenotypic characteristics of OSA patients and their pattern of antihypertensive drugs consumption. The investigators also aimed to investigate a hypothetical association between ongoing anti-hypertensive regimen and Blood pressure control rates in these patients. Additionally, the investigators were also interested in trying to understand if the control of OSA may be influenced by the use of different classes of anti-hypertensive drugs.

Self-Reported Versus Objective Measured Compliance With Oral Appliance Therapy for Obstructive Sleep...

OSAHS

Oral appliances, such as Mandibular Repositioning Appliances (MRA), have emerged as a treatment option for sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). The purpose of this study is to compare active measurement of MRA compliance with patient's self-report.

Oxygen Saturation Monitoring During Surgery

Sleep ApneaObstructive

Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) have cyclical patterns of lower blood oxygen during sleep because of repeated episodes of upper airway obstruction that cause their breathing to stop. When these patients have surgery, anesthetic drugs may worsen these patterns of lower blood oxygen. This study monitors ten patients at high risk for OSA and ten patients at low risk for OSA during surgery. Patterns of lower oxygen saturations should arise in the high risk group but not the low risk group.

Questionnaires to Identify Chinese Patients at Risk for Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

The purpose of this study is to validate the Berlin questionnaire and STOP-BANG (snore, tired, obstruction, pressure, body mass index (BMI), age, neck, gender) as effective screening tools for Chinese subjects who are suspected to have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Pre and Post Orthopedic Surgery Sleep and Cardiac Testing (PROSPECT)

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Evaluate sleep disordered breathing before and after orthopedic surgery utilizing a FDA cleared to market (510k) home sleep study device (Nexan Inc., ClearPath System) Compare Berlin Questionnaire and Epworth Sleep Scale questionnaires to the home sleep study device results. Evaluate effectiveness of the home sleep study testing in the orthopedic presurgical population.

Correlation Between Friedman Classification and the Apnea Hypopnea Index (AIH) in a Population With...

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

Introduction: OSAS is an important disease in the actual medic scene. It is important for correlation with chronic cardiovascular disease that leaves an increase in morbimortality and socioeconomic disability to patients with apnea. Objectives: Determinate the correlation between Friedman Classification and the obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) gravity through AHI (Apnea Hypopnea Index) in patients with OSAS for surgical indication and evaluation. Materials and Methods: The investigators evaluated and classified 84 patients, in the scale of Epworth, Friedman and how much the gravity of the SAHOS for the AHI.

Sleep ApneaObstructive

The purpose of this study is to determine the structural and functional cardiac alterations in obstructive sleep apne (OSA) independent from systemic and pulmonary arterial hypertension and their correlation to the severity of OSA.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term efficacy, tolerance and compliance of ORM Narval Mandibular Repositioning Device (MRD) as a second-line treatment for patients with severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea (OSAH) syndrome who refuse or are intolerant to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) treatment.
