Musculoskeletal Diseases or ConditionsThe aim of this retrospective study is to define the paraneural (fascial) sheath and fascial compartments that surround the brachial plexus at the supraclavicular fossa by reviewing previous ultrasound images from cases that have undergone ultrasound guided selective trunk brachial plexus block.

Physical Function of Older Citizens During Municipality-based Rehabilitation
AgingRehabilitation10 moreWhen choosing outcomes to assess rehabilitation's effect or progress, it is essential to consider the constructs being measured and their value to the patient and the psychometric properties. Choosing an outcome that reflects all aspects of International Classification levels of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is challenging, especially in heterogeneous groups. However, it is important to know the psychometric properties as this gives important knowledge on how to interpret results and, consequently, how this can inform the patient's care. The Short Musculoskeletal Function Assessment (SMFA) questionnaire can reflect differences in patients' functional status with a broad range of disorders, like for elderly citizens undergoing municipality-based rehabilitation. Nevertheless, since there is no golden standard to measure rehabilitation outcomes, construct validity needs to be established to investigate how scores of SMFA can be related to measures on all levels of ICF. Therefore, this study has three main objectives: To investigate how scores of the SMFA questionnaire are related to measures on different ICF levels To describe the characteristics of older citizens starting municipality-based rehabilitation on all ICF levels To investigate predictor variables of upper- and lower extremity strength
Routine Preoperative Evaluation in Surgical Patient
Orthopedic DisorderThe "routine" pre-operative tests in healthy orthopaedic patients undergoing intermediate/ major surgery are not justified. In this study of 670 healthy orthopedic patients with 7610 preoperative tests, investigators found that surgical plan was influenced in <1% of patients. Surgeons should be sensitized to reconsider this practice particularly with limited resources.

Factors Related to the Number of Visits to PT in PHC
Musculoskeletal Diseases or ConditionsMusculoskeletal disorders can be a large burden on individuals, health care and social care systems. The aim was to assess the feasibility of performing a prospective study investigating whether self-efficacy, fear of movement, empowerment or enablement has any relation to the number of visits to physiotherapists among patients with a musculoskeletal disorder in primary health care. Design was apProspective study with consecutively selection including patients seeking physiotherapist for the first time for a musculoskeletal disorder. Primary outcome measure included operational and practical feasibility regarding recruitment of participants, use of questionnaires and key variables to be collected as part of the study.
Rehabilitation Trajectories
Musculoskeletal DiseaseThe main aim of this multicentre cohort study is to provide evidence that can be used to improve continuity and quality in rehabilitation practice and rehabilitation processes across health care levels for patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs).
Effect of Research Participation Versus Usual Clinical Treatment on Pain in Patients With Musculoskeletal...
Musculoskeletal DiseasesOsteoarthritis2 moreThis study explores the effects on pain, function and illness perceptions, of participating in clinical research versus being treated with standard care in patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
Does Goal Elicitation Improve Patient Perceived Involvement
Orthopedic DisorderThe purpose of this study is to determine if goal elicitation among orthopaedic patients improves their perceived involvement in care.
Safety & Efficacy of Nuberol Forte® in Pain Management
Musculoskeletal DisorderPain ManagementThe global prevalence of Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) ranges from 14% to as high as 42%. In addition WHO also estimates that 40% of people over the age of 60 years suffer from MSD and about 80% of the people have had low back pain at some point in their life. In Pakistan, to estimate the prevalence of MSD, there is no data available based on the local population. Locally, studies were conducted on the specific subject pools mainly considering the work related musculoskeletal disorders and backache. However, no real data is available for the symptomatic management of painful musculoskeletal disorders in multiple settings to calculate more generalizable results. So this study is planned and if we found good results then it will help physicians to prescribe the above said medicine to all such cases.
