Work-related Musculoskeletal DisordersDevelopment of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) is a common issue within logistics manual materials handling which is associated with the high physical demands of the workers. Especially back injuries are highly represented among manual workers in logistics. Occupational exoskeletons are seen as a solution to this issue, as it has shown to reduce the muscle activity during several manual handling tasks within manufacturing, construction work, mechanics, and logistics. However, there is a major gap in scientific literature on studies investigating in-field effects of exoskeleton-use on longer terms, which means that we in general have very little knowledge on the pros and cons of implementing exoskeletons in the product-line of logistics. Consequently, our current understanding of how a back-supporting occupational exoskeleton can benefit the manual workers of a logistics company is limited. The purpose of this study is to investigate (i) the long-term effects of a passive back-exoskeleton during manual materials handling on the biomechanics of the user, (ii) the changes in comfort, well-being and productivity pre and post to implementation of passive back-exoskeleton. It is hypothesized that exoskeleton-use will maintain a reduction in muscle activity of the manual workers and increase their overall well-being without affecting their productivity.

From this perspective, it is clear that pre- and post-TKA sexual counseling is important when preparing a balanced resumption of sexual activity in female patients after TKA. However, in clinical practice, patients may hesitate to talk about sexual life, and orthopedists and nurses often ignore this.

Musculoskeletal DisorderMental Health Issue3 moreThe goal of the workplace intervention study 'An Integrated Approach to Health, Wellbeing, and Productivity at Work (ITASPA)' is to examine the effect of the Australian WorkHealth Improvement Network (WIN) program in a Danish context among blue-collar workers. The project is evaluated via its effect on: 1) Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), 2) Functionality, 3) Psychosocial wellbeing, and 4) Safety culture. Based on identified work health challenges at the included workplace, a group of employees at each worksite will develop and implement their own health promoting activities. Remaining employees will participate in one screening questionnaire prior to the intervention followed by five health checks and interview based questionnaires. All intervention activities and health checks take place at the participants' workplace during paid working hours. In our study design, participants will be compared to themselves and their previous measurements. Furthermore, we will compare the worksites.

We will also compare these outcomes between two groups: one receiving the intervention and the other not receiving any treatment. Main Research Questions: How do adolescents with physical disabilities perceive their self-esteem, character strengths, and mental health, including psychological adjustment, psychological distress, psychological wellbeing, life satisfaction, and resilience? Can the Character Strengths Intervention (CSI) enhance the self-esteem, character strengths, and mental health (psychological adjustment and distress) of adolescents with physical disabilities? Study Tasks: Participants, who are adolescents aged 12-18 years, will be asked to provide informed consent to participate in the study. They will complete questionnaires to assess their self-esteem, character strengths, and mental health as a pre-assessment. Participants in the intervention group will undergo the Character Strengths Intervention (CSI), which includes activities like exploring character strengths, writing gratitude letters, and practicing fresh look meditation, among others. After the intervention, participants will complete post-assessment questionnaires to measure changes in self-esteem, character strengths, and mental health. There will be a control group that does not receive any treatment. Comparison Group: Researchers will compare the outcomes between the intervention group, who received the Character Strengths Intervention (CSI), and the control group, who did not receive any treatment. This will help us determine if the intervention had a significant impact on self-esteem, character strengths, and mental health outcomes for adolescents with physical disabilities.

Case reports and a smaller study have previous reported that oral salbutamol has benefited subjects with different types of congenital myopathies by increasing their muscle strength.The exact effect of salbutamol in muscle cells isn't exactly known but it has been hypothesized to have an anabolic effect by triggering different pathways inside the muscle cells which increase cell proliferation, decrease apoptosis, decreases proteolysis and increases protein synthesis. The aim of our study is evaluate if daily oral salbutamol can increase the muscle function and muscle strength in these patients after 6 months on treatment, compared to no treatment.

Those technologies and processes allow an allow incredibly versatile and accurate planning and reproduction of complex bone correction or joint replacement procedures. Recent and converging evidence document how the use of these technologies is able to significantly reduce surgical times, bleeding and intra-operative complications, and the use of intra-operative fluoroscopy. Due to the collaboration between the ward of Pediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute and the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) of the University of Bologna it was possible to experiment, validate and introduce simulation, planning and personalization technologies of interventions of corrective surgery of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) of the limbs in childhood and developmental age into clinical practice. (3D-MALF - CE AVEC: 356/2018/Sper/IOR). Currently, extremely complex bone correction interventions are often planned and performed through Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing of models and custom sterilizable cutting guides (Patient-Specific Instrument, PSI). In pediatric orthopedic surgery is often necessary to use homologous massive bone grafts customized on the patient's anatomy, which can be employed in the replacement of neoplastic lesions, in the axial correction of deformities or even in the extemporaneous lengthening of bone segments. The Musculoskeletal Tissue Bank (BTM) regularly provides bone grafts processed in a Class A controlled contamination environment according to GMP (Clean Room), guaranteeing quality and microbiological safety. The current realization standard of bone grafts on specific request is a freehand realization. The BTM technicians model the grafts, based on the indications received (length, width, height, indications on geometry), using standard surgical instruments (osteotomes, oscillating saws, etc.). The present clinical trial aims to validate the feasibility, accuracy and effectiveness of an innovative process for producing customized bone allografts to correct bone deformities in children. the customization process will be conducted by using computer-aided surgical simulation and 3D printing.
Effectiveness of Laboral Kinesiotherapy in Prevention of Upper Limb Musculoskeletal Disorders

Exercises can be indicated to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, allied to ergonomic intervention as a preventive approach. Objectives: The objective of this study is to analyze the effects of workplace muscle strengthening kinesiotherapy in the reduction of pain and discomfort in the upper limbs and cervical region perceived by the workers of a university hospital. Methods: After a priori sample size calculation based on pain numeric scale, 166 volunterrs will be recruted and assigned randomly to the "labor kinesiotherapy" group (GCL) or to the "control group" (CG), considering 10% sample size lost and intention to treat. The primary outcomes will be the pain perceived by the Numerical Pain Scale (NDT) and Nordic Questionnaire, and isokinetic muscle strength through the mean peak torque work of shoulder abduction. The discomfort and disability will be evaluated by the PSFS and QuickDASH questionnaires. The Ergonomic Analysis of Work will be evaluated by the manual "Ergonomic Analysis Focused on Activities" - EAFA and application of QEC, RULA, REBA and HARM tools. Statistical analysis will be performed through PASW Statistics ™, version 20.0. The independent sample T test will be used to compare the groups. The Cohen index will be set for the effect size calculation. All analyzes will be conducted with 95% confidence interval and p <0.05 significance.
