Platinum-based Chemotherapy With or Without Paclitaxel in Treating Patients With Relapsed Ovarian...

Ovarian CancerPrimary Peritoneal Cavity Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of platinum-based chemotherapy with or without paclitaxel in treating patients with relapsed ovarian epithelial cancer.

Melphalan and Thiotepa Followed by Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients With...

Ovarian Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of melphalan and thiotepa followed by peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients with stage III or stage IV epithelial ovarian cancer in complete remission.

Safety and Efficacy of S-8184 in Second Line Treatment of Stage III or IV Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian Cancer

Phase IIA, multicenter, dose escalation study evaluating the safety and efficacy of weekly S-8184 paclitaxel injectable emulsion in second line treatment of patients with stage III or IV platinum resistant ovarian cancer or primary peritoneal carcinoma.

Vaccine Therapy Plus Interleukin-2 in Treating Women With Stage IV, Recurrent, or Progressive Breast...

Breast CancerOvarian Cancer

RATIONALE: Vaccines may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill tumor cells. It is not yet known whether combining vaccine therapy with interleukin-2 is effective in treating breast and ovarian cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase I/II trial is studying the side effects of vaccine therapy and interleukin-2 and to see how well they work in treating women with stage IV, recurrent, or progressive breast or ovarian cancer.

Erlotinib and Carboplatin in Recurrent Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 more

RATIONALE: Biological therapies such as erlotinib may interfere with the growth of tumor cells and slow the growth of the tumor. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining erlotinib with carboplatin may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining erlotinib and carboplatin in treating patients who have recurrent ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.

Carboplatin/Paclitaxel +/-Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Ovarian Epithelial or Fallopian...

Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether carboplatin and paclitaxel combined with gemcitabine is more effective than carboplatin and paclitaxel alone in treating ovarian epithelial or fallopian tube cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying carboplatin and paclitaxel combined with gemcitabine to see how well it works compared to paclitaxel and carboplatin alone in treating patients who have undergone surgery for ovarian epithelial or fallopian tube cancer.

A Study of Trabectedin in Patients With Advanced Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian NeoplasmsEndocrine Gland Neoplasms6 more

The purpose of this study is to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational chemotherapy agent in patients with advanced ovarian cancer.

Completed9 enrollment criteria

Gefitinib in Treating Patients With Cervical Cancer

Cervical CancerFallopian Tube Cancer2 more

RATIONALE: Biological therapies such as gefitinib may interfere with the growth of the tumor cells and slow the growth of cervical cancer. Comparing results of diagnostic procedures performed before, during, and after treatment with gefitinib may help doctors predict a patient's response to treatment and help plan the most effective treatment. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well gefitinib works in treating patients with cervical cancer.

Completed52 enrollment criteria

Thalidomide in Treating Patients With Refractory or Resistant Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian Cancer

RATIONALE: Drugs such as thalidomide may stop the growth of cancer cells by stopping blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of thalidomide in treating women who have epithelial ovarian cancer that has not responded to previous therapy.
