Serum DCAMKL1 Pre and Post Treatment in Patients With Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic Cancer

The investigators believe DCAMKL-1 is a stem cell tumor marker and is elevated in patients with pancreatic cancer. The investigators would like to analyze its expression pre and post treatment, to gauge the correlation between current pancreatic cancer therapies and the expression of DCAMKL-1

Pancreas Volume and Diabetes Status Following Pancreatectomy

Pancreatic Neoplasms

This study will enroll 100 patients scheduled to undergo a pancreatectomy. The primary objective is to develop a scoring system using pancreatic volume measured by CT scan and intraoperative measurements of the pancreas parenchyma to predict the onset of diabetes mellitus after a pancreatectomy. The investigators will also monitor patients with pre-existing diabetes to see if their diabetes worsens or improves.

Usefulness of 3D Digital Reconstruction in the Imaging Diagnosis of Pancreatic Tumors

Pancreas Neoplasm

Reconstruction using 3D virtual models has brought about a revolution in diagnostic imaging and its use is increasingly widespread. The objective of this work is to determine the precision of the 3D model when establishing the characteristics of tumors and their relationship with other anatomical structures.

Pancreatic Cancer Models Developed From EUS Guided Biopsy Tissue

Pancreatic CancerPancreatic Adenocarcinoma1 more

Pancreatic cancer is a very aggressive cancer. Over the past 40 years there has not been much progress made in reducing deaths from this cancer. Recently, new models of pancreatic cancers have been generated from mouse and human tissues. These models have used larger pieces of tissues taken from surgical removal of pancreatic cancers. The purpose of this study is to determine whether these new pancreatic cancer models can be generated from the small biopsies we take to make the diagnosis of the pancreatic mass.

Identifying Saliva Markers of Patients With Stomach, Colorectal (Including Pre-cancer Polyp) and...

Gastric CancerColorectal Cancer and Pre-cancer Polyps1 more

Colorectal cancers account for 783,000 new cases and cause 437,000 deaths per year across the world. Diagnosis in the early stages improves survival rates. Up to now, these cancers are mostly diagnosed only at later stages of the disease's course through histoimmune staining and molecular biology processes on the tissues biopsied from the gastrointestinal system under invasive diagnostic procedures of colonoscopy. Oral fluid presents a large protein complexity and has been recently used as a diagnostic biofluid for oral, as well as systematic diseases. Using oral fluid as a bio-marker for the colorectal cancer can be advantageous as it contains gastrointestinal fluids, in addition to bacteria and bacteria lysate, which can also serve as a bio-markers' source for colorectal cancers. Proteomic technologies provide the tools needed to discover and identify disease-associated biomarkers. The aim of the present study is to identify salivary bio-markers in patients suffering from colorectal cancers.

Role of Perfusion CT in Pancreatic Cancer

AdenocarcinomaPancreas1 more

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the perfusion parameters in the normal pancreas and the pancreas cancer (adenocarcinoma or neuroendocrine tumor) are different on perfusion CT to determine whether initial perfusion parameters as well as perfusion parameter change in pancreas adenocarcinoma before and after chemotherapy are different between chemotherapy response group (CR, PR according to RECIST 1.1) and non response group (SD, PD according to RECIST 1.1).
