Administration of GRASPA (Suspension of Erythrocytes Encapsulating L-asparaginase)in Patients With...

Pancreatic Cancer

The interest in using L-asparaginase in pancreatic cancer arose from in vitro and in vivo studies data showing an anti-neoplastic effect on pancreatic tumor cell lines. Interestingly, these studies suggest an additional effect of L-asparaginase associated to gemcitabine.GRASPA is a suspension of red blood cells encapsulating L-asparaginase. The aim of this phase I clinical trial is to evaluate the Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD) of GRASPA on locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic tumors, after therapy failure of first or second line chemotherapy using gemcitabine.

Dovitinib Lactate, Gemcitabine Hydrochloride, and Capecitabine in Treating Patients With Advanced...

Adenocarcinoma of the PancreasStage III Pancreatic Cancer3 more

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of dovitinib lactate when given together with gemcitabine hydrochloride and capecitabine in treating patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors or advanced pancreatic cancer. Dovitinib lactate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving dovitinib lactate together with combination chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells

Preoperative Folfirinox, Radiation Therapy for Resectable Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas

Pancreatic Cancer

The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if a chemotherapy combination called modified Folfirinox (or mFolfirinox), followed by a combination of gemcitabine and radiation therapy, followed by surgery, can help to control pancreatic cancer. The safety of this treatment will also be studied. mFolfirinox consists of 5-FU, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan. These 3 drugs, along with gemcitabine, are each designed to block the growth of cancer cells, which may lead to cancer cell death.

Adenocarcinoma of the PancreasRecurrent Pancreatic Cancer2 more

This phase II trial studies how well giving selumetinib and erlotinib hydrochloride together works in treating patients with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer that is refractory to chemotherapy. Selumetinib and erlotinib hydrochloride may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Gemcitabine Hydrochloride in Treating Patients With Pancreatic Cancer That Has Been Removed by Surgery...

Pancreatic Cancer

RATIONALE: Studying samples of blood from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors predict how patients will respond to treatment. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying gemcitabine hydrochloride in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that has been removed by surgery.

Neoadjuvant Chemoradiation in Patients With Borderline Resectable Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic Cancer

Previous reports suggest benefit of neoadjuvant chemoradiation treatment for borderline resectable pancreas cancer. This study is a multicenter prospective randomized phase II/III study of neoadjuvant chemoradiation with gemcitabine in patients with borderline resectable pancreas cancer. The study is designed in 2 arms, one with upfront surgery and the other with neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy.

Alisertib and Gemcitabine Hydrochloride in Treating Patients With Solid Tumors or Pancreatic Cancer...

Acinar Cell Adenocarcinoma of the PancreasDuct Cell Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas5 more

This phase I trial studies the side effects and the best dose of alisertib when given together with gemcitabine hydrochloride in treating patients with solid tumors or pancreatic cancer that is metastatic or cannot be removed by surgery. Alisertib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving alisertib with gemcitabine hydrochloride may be an effective treatment for solid tumors or pancreatic cancer.

Neoadjuvant SBRT With Concomitant Capecitabine in Resectable Pancreatic Cancer

Stage IA Pancreatic CancerStage IB Pancreatic Cancer2 more

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of stereotactic body radiation therapy when given together with capecitabine before surgery in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that can be removed by surgery. Stereotactic body radiation therapy may be able to send x-rays directly to the tumor and cause less damage to normal tissue. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving stereotactic body radiation therapy and capecitabine before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed.

Adenocarcinoma of the PancreasRecurrent Pancreatic Cancer4 more

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of gamma-secretase inhibitor RO4929097 when given together with gemcitabine hydrochloride in treating patients with advanced solid tumors. Gamma-secretase inhibitor RO4929097 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving gamma-secretase inhibitor RO4929097 together with gemcitabine hydrochloride may kill more tumor cells.

This phase I clinical trial is studying the side effects and best dose of giving gamma-secretase inhibitor RO4929097 and cediranib maleate together in treating patients with advanced solid tumors. Gamma-secretase inhibitor RO4929097 and cediranib maleate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Cediranib maleate also may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor.
