A Prospective Study of Natural History of Pancreatitis
Chronic PancreatitisTo prospectively define the natural history and the clinical, laboratory and histomorphometric features of chronic pancreatitis (CP) of varying etiology. To identify clinical and laboratory parameters that correlate with the pathophysiologic state in patients with CP. To quantify the behavioral abnormalities associated with CP. To determine psychological and behavioral correlates of CP disease progression and outcomes.
PEG-Asparaginase Associated Pancreatitis, Hepatotoxicity and Hyperlipidemia in Children With ALL...
Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaPancreatitisThe purpose of this study is to create a model enabling us to predict pancreatitis, hyperlipidemia and hepatotoxicity during treatment with PEG-Asparaginase in children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Helicobacter Pylori and Acute Alcohol Induced Pancreatitis
PancreatitisAcute1 moreThis study is performed to measure wether Helicobacter Pylori has an effect on the incidence and course of acute alcohol induced pancreatitis
Contrast Enhanced Harmonic Endoscopic Ultrasound (CEH-EUS) in Focal Pancreatic Masses
Adenocarcinoma PancreasChronic PancreatitisThe aim of the study is to assess the accuracy of real-time perfusion imaging pattern of pancreatic focal lesions visualized by contrast-enhanced harmonic endoscopic ultrasound (CEH-EUS) for the differential diagnosis between chronic pseudotumoral pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer in a prospective multicenter design. The study will include patients with focal pancreatic masses evaluated by CEH-EUS and EUS-FNA. The diagnosis is usually unknown in the moment of the initial evaluation, the patients being included based on a suspicion of focal pancreatic masses after transabdominal ultrasound, CT or MR examinations. However, after a complete evaluation, a final diagnosis will be reached based on the combination of EUS-FNA cytology/pathology, surgical pathology and minimum 12 months follow-up.
Characterization of Fatty Acid Composition of Triglycerides in Patients With Hypertriglyceridemia-induced...
Hypertriglyceridemia) Finding a unique pattern in the triglyceride composition of patients with hypertriglyceridemia that increases the chances of getting pancreatitis and which can serve as a laboratory predictive tool for patients and define them as a at-risk population. 2) Finding the typical fatty acid composition in triglycerides for patients at high risk of pancreatic acute inflammation that can be used to develop unique drugs for pancreatic acute inflammation caused by high levels of triglycerides.
Treatment Strategy of Pancreatic Radiolucent Stone
Chronic PancreatitisTreatment strategy of chronic pancreatitis (CP) patients with large pancreatic radiolucent stone (≥ 5mm) has not been established. We aimed to figure out clinical features and efficacy of endotherapy for large pancreatic radiolucent stone.
ABTHERA ADVANCE™ Use Without Wittman Patch
Necrotizing PancreatitisThe objective of this study is to evaluate the use of the ABTHERA ADVANCE for patients requiring open abdomen due to necrotizing pancreatitis. The institutions traditional approach is to use the ABTHERA Open Abdomen dressing with Wittmann patch. However, the ABTHERA ADVANCE has shown in vitro to have improved tension on the abdominal wall that may obviate the need for costly Wittmann patch placement.
Tailored Hydration for the Prevention of Post-ERCP Pancreatitis
CholangiopancreatographyEndoscopic Retrograde1 moreAggressive hydration of lactated Ringer's solution has shown considerable beneficial effect in preventing post-ERCP(endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) pancreatitis. But the occurence rate of post-ERCP pancreatitis are near 10% and there are severe complications of aggressive hydration due to hypervolemia such pulmonary and peripheral edema, prolonged hospital stay and increased medical expense. Also there are no definite guidelines that suggest the duration and amount of hydration. This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of tailored hydration depending on each patient's condition that indicates the likelihood of developing post-ERCP pancreatitis.
Post-ERCP Pancreatitis Severity Indication (PEPSI) Study
PancreatitisThis study plans to directly address the problem of post-ERCP pancreatitis to gauge the various factors involved in its development and genetic variability in the immune response to an isolated pancreatic insult. In addition, the investigators hope to study markers of the early immune response to this injury and to develop a risk-assessment model.
Pentoxifylline for the Prevention of PEP
PancreatitisBetween December 2016 and June 2017, 110 consecutive patients older than 18 years who are scheduled to undergo diagnostic or therapeutic ERCP at the Anhui Provincial Hospital will be recruited for the study. Patients were randomized using opaque, sealed envelopes containing random numbers assigning them to treat with pentoxifylline (pentoxifylline group) or Placebo (placebo group) for preventing ERCP pancreatitis.
