The cause has been related to specific types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The purpose of the study is to assess the clinical effectiveness of a trial drug, SGN-00101, in children with RRP and also assess its safety.

Local Hyperthermia for the Treatment of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasias

Human papillomavirus(HPV) infect epithelial cells and have the capacity to stimulate cell abnormal hyperplasia, especially by those high-risk HPV types. HPV vaccine primarily targeting HPV6/11/16/18 has been available and makes it possible to prevent cervical cancer. However, a large population was left unvaccinated, specifically for those aged ones. In clinic, patients harboring high-risk HPV is quite prevalent in China or other developing nations. Removing the virus and prevention of malignant transformation is required. Mild local Hyperthermia with a certain temperature range has been successfully used in the treatment of some diseases. It has been utilised in the treatment of some neoplasm, fungal and HPV infections. Investigators' study found that local hyperthermia at 44°C could cleared HPV in more than half of the patients with plantar warts. Investigators also note the fact that in patients with multiple lesions, the clearance of the target lesion is commonly followed by clearance of other distant lesions, a phenomenon suggesting that local hyperthermia could aid in establishing a specific immune response to eliminate HPV.So the purpose of the study is to evaluation local hyperthermia in the treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasias grade I and II after 3 months, with positive high-risk type HPVs, and patients with positive testing for high risk HPVs. Appropriate control arms were designed for different conditions.

New Therapy of Laryngeal Papilloma In Children

This study will determine efficacy of a new and combined treatment of laryngeal recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), by using a 585 nm pulsed dye laser (PDL) and a dietary supplement, diindolylmethane (DIM). We will compare this new treatment with PDL-only, in a total of 30 children (15 of each treatment), to determine whether this combined treatment would be effective and safe in preventing the RRP recurrence. This is the first study to combine PDL technique with DIM, to develop a new, voice-preserving and long-term effective method of managing laryngeal RRP in children.

Study of Celebrex (Celecoxib) in Patients With Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis

Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis

This is a randomized double blind controlled study to determine if celebrex (celecoxib), a selective COX-2 inhibitor, can decrease the rate of recurrence in adult and pediatric patients with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. All patients will be evaluated for disease severity at enrollment and at 3 month intervals for 30 months. After randomization, patients in the early treatment arm will begin celecoxib 6 months after enrollment. The delayed treatment arm will begin celecoxib 18 months after enrollment. All patients will receive celecoxib for 1 year. During the time that patients do not receive celecoxib, they will receive a placebo capsule with the same appearance. Follow-up visits will occur at three month intervals for the duration of the study.

This is a study to test lozenges of interferon-alpha that are dissolved in the mouth as a treatment of oral warts in HIV-positive adults. The hypothesis of this study is that interferon-alpha will be safe and that a higher percentage of subjects given interferon-alpha will experience a complete or nearly complete remission of their oral warts compared to subjects given placebo.

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of giving 7-hydroxystaurosporine together with irinotecan hydrochloride in treating patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumors, including triple-negative breast cancer (currently enrolling only patients with triple-negative breast cancer since 6/8/2007). Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving 7-hydroxystaurosporine together with irinotecan hydrochloride may help kill more cancer cells by making tumor cells more sensitive to the drug.
