Effects of Dexmedetomidine on Activity in the Subthalamic Nucleus
Parkinson's DiseaseDeep Brain Stimulation SurgeryThe purpose of this research study is to find out whether dexmedetomidine changes brain cell activity in the subthalamic nucleus (STN).
Prevention of Levodopa-induced Dyskinesias by Transcranial Static Magnetic Field Stimulation (tSMS)...
DyskinesiaMedication-Induced1 moreThis is a randomized sham-controlled double-blind study to test the hypothesis that transcranial static magnetic field stimulation (tSMS) of the motor cortex improves levodopa-induced dyskinesias in patients with Parkinson's disease. Half of the patients will receive real tSMS treatment, the other half will receive sham treatment (placebo).
Internet-CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for Depression and Anxiety in Parkinsons Disease
Parkinson's DiseaseDepression2 moreThe purpose of this project is to develop and evaluate Internet-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT) for Parkinson's Disease (PD) patients with concurrent depression or anxiety symptoms. All treatment in this project is given as an adjunct to Standard Medical Treatment (SMT). ICBT will be compared to an Internet-based active control treatment (ICONTROL) and to SMT alone. It is hypothesized that both active treatments will be superior to SMT, and that ICBT will be superior to ICONTROL, in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Preventing Falls and Participation Restrictions in Neurological Diseases
Multiple SclerosisParkinson Disease1 moreA randomized open clinical trial to assess the added value of a comprehensive rehabilitation program on fall prevention and improve participation and activities of daily living. Baseline assessment, 6-month experimental intervention (experimental group) vs. usual rehabilitation programs and assessment at end of treatment and six months after treatment will be performed.
Relative Bioavailability and Bioequivalence of Opicapone
Parkinson Diseasethe purpose assess the relative bioavailability and bioequivalence of two active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) sources of opicapone (OPC, Ongentys® and BIA 9-1067) following single 50 mg dose administration under fasting conditions in healthy volunteers
Bioavailability and Bioequivalence Study of Two Different Sources of Opicapone
Parkinson DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the bioavailability and the bioequivalence between two active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) sources of opicapone (OPC) at two different dosage strengths (25 mg and 50 mg) after a single oral dose administration under fasting conditions in healthy male and female subjects.
West Sweden Parkinson Objective Measurement Registry Study
Parkinson DiseaseParkinsonism1 moreWestPORTS will recruit a randomly selected population consisting of 25% of all individuals with Parkinson's disease (ICD G209) that have visited any of the seven major outpatient neurology or geriatrics clinics in West Sweden (population 1.7M) during a predefined 12 month period between Sept 2016 and April 2018. Baseline clinical and demographic data will be collected along with a 6 x 24h accelerometry recording using the Parkinson Kinetigraph (Global Kinetics). Repeated data collections will be made with regular intervals of up to 2 years as long as subjects are alive and willing.
A Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Study to Examine the Brain Binding Properties of a Novel Radioactive...
Parkinson DiseaseThis study evaluates the usefulness of a PET radioligand to estimate the binding on the mGlu4 receptor in the brain. mGlu4 has been proposed as a therapeutic target in Parkinson's disease.
Auricular Muscle Zone Stimulation for Parkinson Disease
Parkinson DiseaseA Multicenter, Randomized, Blinded, Electronic Device in Subjects with Parkison Disease.
ParKinWalk: Physical Activity and Long Group-walking for Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson DiseaseHealthy AgingThe study will evaluate the impact of exercise training program followed by long-walking onon supervised and unsupervised gait assessment in Parkinson´s disease and control subjects.
