Clinical Decision Support Tool for Improving the Adequacy of Anticoagulant Therapy in Non-valvular...

Atrial FibrillationAnticoagulants1 more

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia and increases the risk of ischemic stroke 4-5-fold. The prevention of complications is based on oral or antiplatelet anticoagulant treatment. The first choice of anticoagulant therapy (AT) is the vitamin K antagonist (VKA). Contraindication to VKA or poor control of the International Normalized Ratio leads to the administration of direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs). There is a trend towards inadequate AT in non-valvular AF (NVAF) patients. The Objective of the study is evaluate the impact of the implementation of a decision support tool linked to digital clinical history on the adequacy of AT, the incidence of complications and the mortality in patients with NVAF in primary health care of the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS).

Medical Need of OAC Reversal

Atrial Fibrillation

This is a retrospective, observational, claims cohort study to assess, for adult patients initiating an oral anticoagulant for NVAF

Post-Market Surveillance With a Novel mHealth Platform

GastrectomyAtrial Fibrillation

This is a study to pilot the feasibility of using a novel patient-led, smartphone-based mobile health platform (Hugo) for real-world surveillance of outcomes of patients after they undergo a bariatric surgical procedure (either sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass) and catheter-based atrial fibrillation ablation

Treatment Pattern of NOACs (Non-vitamin K Oral Anticoagulants) in Outpatient Users in Colombian...

Atrial Fibrillation

This population-based descriptive study will characterize first-time users of three NOACs (rivaroxaban, dabigatran and apixaban) in prevention of stroke in non-valvular atrial fibrillation (SPAF) patients and will assess the patterns of drug utilization in routine general practice in Colombia

Birkebeiner II Study

Atrial Fibrillation

Prolonged endurance exercise is associated with an elevated risk of atrial fibrillation (AF). The mechanisms governing this increased risk remains elusive. This study aim to detail the specific traits of elderly subjects with AF conducting endurance training by comparing elderly participators in the Birkebeiner cross country ski race(an indicator of prolonged endurance exercise practice) with and without AF to a not-so-trained control group.

A Digital Non-interventional Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Screening Study With Commercial Pulse Detection...

Atrial Fibrillation

The primary objective in this study is to identify commercial pulse detection systems (CPDS) parallel to electrocardiogram (ECG) recording within routine clinical setting, which are able to detect atrial fibrillation or sinus rhythm of screened patients.

Edoxaban Management in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures

Atrial FibrillationVenous Thromboembolism

Patients receiving Novel Oral Anticoagulation (NOACs) undergo diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at a rate of 10% per year. Short half-lives and rapid onset of action allow for short periods of NOAC interruption without heparin bridging. There is only minimal information on the peri-procedural usage pattern of edoxaban and the related outcome data currently available. Therefore, further real-world clinical data on the peri-procedural usage pattern of edoxaban within any diagnostic or interventional procedure in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) or venous thromboembolism (VTE) will be collected in this registry.

Treatment Convenience in Patients Treated With Dabigatran for Stroke Prophylaxis in Atrial Fibrillation...

Atrial Fibrillation

Describe patient and physician assessed factors for patient well-being when treated with Pradaxa for stroke and embolism prevention in atrial fibrillation either compared to previous antithrombotic treatment (switcher)

Atrial Fibrillation After PFO Closure

Stroke

An increased risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) after patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure was observed in randomized trials but systematic screening of AF was not performed in these studies. Purpose: The objective of this study was to evaluate incidence of AF in patients who underwent percutaneous PFO closure with serial 24-hours ambulatory ECG (AECG) monitoring during 6 months follow-up. Primary endpoint was incidence of AF on ECG monitoring. Secondary endpoints were clinical outcomes (symptoms, hospitalization from cardiovascular causes, ischemic stroke, or bleeding) up to 6 month follow-up.

Validation of the Advisor HD Grid Mapping Catheter in Atrial Fibrillation Ablation

Atrial Fibrillation

The primary study concept is to evaluate the superiority of the HD Grid high-density mapping catheter over the current standard 20-pole circular mapping catheter in pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in atrial fibrillation. A minimum of 20 evaluable subjects with symptomatic atrial fibrillation scheduled for a clinically indicated first PVI ablation will be included.
