Research of Revascularization in Immature Teeth With Periapical Periodontitis

Periapical Periodontitis

Revascularization is an alternative new treatment of immature permanent teeth with necrotic pulp nowadays while apexification is the traditional therapy. The investigators suppose that revascularization is superior to apexification at developing the root of immature permanent teeth and reducing the risk of root fracture, and the research is designed.

Apical Periodontitis

Regenerative endodontic procedures have been used to successfully treat human mature permanent teeth with necrotic pulps and apical periodontitis. Many researchers have begun to apply regenerative endodontic procedures to mature teeth in adult patients. Several clinical case reports have shown complete resolution of signs and symptoms of pulp necrosis in mature teeth, even those with large periapical lesions, as well as signs of pulp canal obliteration. thevaim of this study is To assess the regenerative potential of mature permanent teeth with necrotic pulps with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and blood clot using radiographic and clinical methods.

Healing Potentiality After Regeneration Using Standard PRF and Advanced PRF in Mature Necrotic Single Teeth

Earlier, it was believed that successful regeneration cannot be achieved once tooth has become infected. However, recent studies suggest that regenerative endodontics may in fact be possible in teeth with pulpal necrosis and periapical pathology. The primary goal in regenerative procedure is to eliminate clinical symptoms and resolve apical periodontitis. The blood clot acts as a scaffold, and the growth factors inside recruit stem cells, most likely from periapical papilla. But unfortunately, the erythrocytes in the clot of the blood column undergo necrosis, affecting its properties so the blood column is augmented by the use of different types of scaffolds. Platelet-rich fibrin is classified into four types (Standard PRF, Injectable PRF, Advanced PRF and Concentrated Growth Factor CGF) according to speed and time of centrifuge with the overall aim to increase the number of platelets and leucocytes

Outcome of Endodontic Treatment in Patient Treated With a Hydraulic Sealer

Apical Periodontitis

The objective of the study is to evaluate and compare, clinically and radiographically, the outcome of non surgical primary/secondary root canal treatment using a hydraulic sealer or a zinc oxide-eugenol sealer.

Validation of PUFA Index in Assessing Untreated Dental Caries Among Malaysian Adult Subpopulation...

PulpitisApical Periodontitis

PUFA Index was introduced to detect the clinical consequences of untreated dental caries. To date, there are no studies on the reliability and accuracy of the PUFA index as a screening tool. Other than indices, radiographs were sometimes used as a screening tool using the validated Periapical Index (PAI). The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and accuracy of PUFA and PAI in screening for clinical outcomes of untreated caries, specifically pulpal and periapical diseases. The reference standard is the clinical diagnosis, as categorized by the American Association of Endodontists. Intra- and inter-examiner reliability will be determined using Cohen's kappa. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value will be calculated. Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) contrast estimation will be computed to compare the two index tests.

Serum Pro-Diabetes Inflammation Biomarkers in Patients With Apical Periodontitis.

Apical PeriodontitisInsulin Resistance2 more

Inflammation is a common factor of chronic periodontitis and diabetes. However, to date, there is no scientific evidence supporting a causal effect of the inflammation created by apical periodontitis on the onset of insulin resistance and on metabolic derangement in the condition of pre-diabetes or diabetes. A case control study has been designed in order to evaluate serum levels of pro-diabetes inflammation factors in a sample of healthy patients between 25 and 55 years of age, with or without apical periodontitis, before endodontic treatment and at 6 and 12 months post-treatment. The aim of the study is to evaluate any relation between the presence of chronic endodontic lesions and pro-diabetes inflammation factors that can promote the onset of insulin resistance, and whether endodontic treatment can reduce these factors, thus preventing a pro-diabetes status.
