Evaluation of Periodontal Phenotype Using CBCT, Computed Aided Design (CAD) and Prosthetic-driven...
Periodontal DiseasesThe use of CBCT/CAD and PDIP technology makes it possible to determine the gingival and the periodontal phenotype, and it can be useful in establishing treatment plan in which it is required to carry out radiological diagnostics. Assessment of the periodontal and the gingival phenotype in a patient using the method based on CW/CL ratio is unreliable. Determining it for each dento-gingival unit is the appropriate method. Positive correlation between FGT, WKT and AC-GM distance confirms the purpose of measuring these parameters for evaluation of the gingival phenotype and additional TLPAC2 for the periodontal phenotype.
Diagnosis of Periodontal Disease Using Genetic Marker in Saliva
Chronic PeriodontitisThe purpose of the present study is to identify the novel periodontal disease biomarkers using differentially expressed microRNA in the saliva. The severity of chronic periodontal diseases and the time of pre- and post-treatment are major classification criteria. The obtained data will secure the foundation for the development of a new non-invasive diagnostic methods for early diagnosis & prognosis prediction of periodontal disease.

Periodontal Disease and P. Gingivalis in Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid ArthritisOsteoarthritis1 morePeriodontitis (PD) has been postulated to be a risk factor for the onset and progression of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Recent reports suggest that infection with Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis), a major oral pathogen in PD, could play a pivotal role in the development RA. The objective of this study is to examine the relationship of PD and P. gingivalis infection with the risk and severity of RA.

Periodontal DiseasesThis current study aims to clarify the relationship between the occurrence of Entamoeba gingivalis infection and the specter of gingivitis & chronic periodontitis among Egyptian patients in comparison to healthy volunteers as a control group.
Use of Pain Medication Following Periodontal Procedures
Periodontal DiseasesPainThis study had the following aims: i. to determine the relationship between anticipated pain and actual pain experienced following periodontal surgery; and ii. determine the factors that predict the amount of pain and the amount of pain medication use following periodontal surgery. It was hypothesized that experienced pain will be significantly less than anticipated pain. It was also hypothesized that the following factors will affect pain experienced: sex, type of surgery, nervousness, anticipated pain, sedation, age, smoking status, supplement use and pain pill usage. It was hypothesized that the following factors will affect pain pill usage: sex, type of surgery, nervousness, anticipated pain, sedation, age, smoking status, supplement use, and actual pain.

Periodontal DiseasesHeart TransplantationForty heart transplant recipients and forty age and sex mathced systemically healthy patients were included. Periodontal examination was performed and a questionnaire was applied to record demographic data, systemic health and dental behavior data.
Influence of Smoking on Periodontal Healing One Year After Active Treatment
Periodontal DiseasesSmokingThe aim of this study was to investigate whether cigarette smoking had any impact on the clinical outcomes 1 year after active periodontal treatment. Eligible for the study were 5680 individuals 20-85 years, referred to the specialised clinic for periodontal treatment at Gävle County Hospital between the years of 1980 and 2015. Before examination, all individuals filled in a questionnaire regarding their medical health, medication and smoking habits. Excluded were edentulous individuals and where clinical data 1-year after active treatment, or smoking habits were missing (n=1453). Complete data for analyses was available for 4227 individuals.
