The Effect of Low Frequency Soundwave Stimulation on Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy...

Gynecologic CancerNeuropathy;Peripheral

The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the efficacy of SensoniQ® Treatment Station in preventing or reducing chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in patients receiving frontline carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy for a gynecologic malignancy. This study will also assess the improvement of CIPN in patients who have previously received carboplatin and paclitaxel therapy with persistent Grade 2 or worse neuropathy. The main questions this clinical trial aims to answer are: To investigate the efficacy of SensoniQ® Treatment Station on the prevention or reduction of CIPN in gynecologic oncology patients receiving front line carboplatin and paclitaxel. To investigate the efficacy of SensoniQ® Treatment Station on the improvement of existing CIPN in patients who previously received chemotherapy with carboplatin and paclitaxel for a gynecologic malignancy

Efficacy and Tolerability of AP707 in Patients With Chronic Pain Due to Diabetic Polyneuropathy...

PainPain Syndrome10 more

Over the last years a rising medical need for treatment of chronic pain was identified. Based on previous findings indicating the pain modulating effects of cannabinoids in chronic pain disorders, this clinical trial investigates the efficacy and tolerability of the THC-focused nano endocannabinoid system modulator AP707 in patients with pain disorders due to diabetic polyneuropathy. Patients receive AP707 or placebo over the course of 14 weeks as an add-on to the standard of care. Changes in pain intensity, quality of life and sleep and others measures are monitored through different scales to assess the efficacy of AP707 in patients with chronic pain due to diabetic polyneuropathy.

Relationship Between Serum Interleukin-20 Level and Paclitaxel-associated Neuropathy

Neuropathy Associated With Dysproteinaemias

This study aims to investigate the correlation between paclitaxel-induced neuropathy and the measurement values of serum IL-20 levels at baseline and during chemotherapy in patients who will receive neoadjuvant or adjuvant paclitaxel chemotherapy with the diagnosis of early-stage or locally advanced breast cancer

Objective Measures of Nerve Integrity, Posture, Gait and Blood Flow, After Nerve Decompression

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

The purpose of this study is to measure the effect of nerve decompression on the recovery of the treated nerves. To obtain objective data during surgery of the treated nerves' via electrical signals and muscle power when stimulated. Also, to monitor muscle strength, balance/gait and blood flow in the lower extremity before and after surgery.

Study of Inherited Neurological Disorders

Motor Neuron DiseaseMuscular Disease2 more

This study is designed to learn more about the natural history of inherited neurological disorders and the role of heredity in their development. It will examine the genetics, symptoms, disease progression, treatment, and psychological and behavioral impact of diseases in the following categories: hereditary peripheral neuropathies; hereditary myopathies; muscular dystrophies; hereditary motor neuron disorders; mitochondrial myopathies; hereditary neurocognitive disorders; inherited neurological disorders without known diagnosis; and others. Many of these diseases, which affect the brain, spinal cord, muscles, and nerves, are rare and poorly understood. Children and adults of all ages with various inherited neurological disorders may be eligible for this study. Participants will undergo a detailed medical and family history, and a family tree will be drawn. They will also have a physical and neurological examination that may include blood test and urine tests, an EEG (brain wave recordings), psychological tests, and speech and language and rehabilitation evaluations. A blood sample or skin biopsy may be taken for genetic testing. Depending on the individual patient s symptoms, imaging tests such as X-rays, CT or MRI scans and muscle and nerve testing may also be done. Information from this study may provide a better understanding of the genetic underpinnings of these disorders, contributing to improved diagnosis, treatment, and genetic counseling, and perhaps leading to additional studies in these areas. ...

Phytocannabinoids for the Treatment of Chronic Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Breast...

Breast CarcinomaChemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy1 more

This clinical trial tests how well phytocannabinoids (cannabidiol [CBD] and tetrahydrocannbinol [THC]) work in reducing chronic chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in breast and colon cancer survivors. Neuropathy is the most common neurological symptom reported by cancer patients due to treatment. A variety of pharmacologic treatments have been evaluated to alleviate CIPN symptoms; however, no definitive treatment has been found to successfully treat all the symptoms of CIPN. Therefore, investigators continue to seek other possible treatment options including cannabis. Phytocannabinoids may be a particularly useful intervention for cancer patients given the limited effective treatments for CIPN. In addition, cannabis-based medicines have become tremendously popular as both cancer patients and clinicians are seeking therapies with fewer potential risks of dependency and other side effects. This trial is being done to provide cancer patients and clinicians with reliable information to help guide their use of phytocannabinoids to manage the tremendous distress and pain experienced by many cancer patients, which impacts their long-term quality of life.

Evaluation of Hydroxychloroquine to Prevent CIPN

Breast CancerGynecologic Cancer3 more

The study is being done to research if hydroxychloroquine can prevent chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy. Certain chemotherapy drugs, like paclitaxel, are known to cause neuropathy which can impact quality of life. Currently, there are no options for preventing peripheral neuropathy. In addition, there are no useful methods to assess peripheral nerve damage. This study will also explore using a study MRI of patients' feet prior to starting chemotherapy and after they have completed chemotherapy to see if there is any difference in their nerve structure.
