Effect of Dronedarone on Atrial Fibrosis Progression and Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence

Atrial FibrillationAtrial Fibrillation Recurrent

Patients who have undergone cardiac ablation will be randomized and blinded to one of two groups; one group will receive dronedarone while the other group will receive a placebo. The incidence of atrial fibrillation recurrence, as well as atrial fibrosis progression, will be analyzed between the two trial groups.

Atrial FibrillationAnticoagulant Therapy

Anticoagulation therapy is the most important part of the treatment strategy for atrial fibrillation. Previous studies have confirmed that both warfarin and new oral anticoagulants can effectively prevent stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. However, the current situation of anticoagulation in atrial fibrillation is not optimistic. This project aims to explore the prevalence of inappropriate doses of anticoagulants in my country. , and the influencing factors related to such doses. By analyzing the status quo, characteristics and influencing factors, suggestions and management plans to promote rational use are put forward to provide certain guidance and help for anticoagulation therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation.

Left Atrial Appendage Closure Registry of Henri Mondor Hospital

Atrial Fibrillation

Intro: Patients with atrial fibrillation are at significant risk of thrombus formation in the left atrial appendage, which can lead to strokes or systemic embolisms. This risk justifies first-line prescribing of long-term oral anticoagulant therapy in these patients. Percutaneous left atrial appendage closure, is an interventional cardiology technique for patients at high risk of stroke related to atrial fibrillation in whom long term anticoagulation therapy cannot be conducted. This procedure involves implantation of an occlusion device into the left atrial appendage to close it and prevent migration of thrombotic material that could otherwise cause distant embolism. Closure of the left atrial appendage avoids long-term prescription of anticoagulants while protecting patients against the risk of systemic embolism and stroke. Hypothesis/Objective: the main objective of this study is to assess the long term efficacy of left atrial closure, 5 years after the procedure Method: 150 patients will be included prospectively. We will also include restropectively100 other patients, previously treated by left atrial appendage closure at Henri Mondor hospital. Demographic, clinical, echocardiographic, and computed tomography data will be obtained by physical examination or medical records. Conclusion: this study will allow to assess the long term efficacy of left atrial closure in atrial fibrillation patients.

Medical and Surgical Hybrid Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation.

Atrial Fibrillation (AF)

The objective of the study is to investigate the feasibility of a hybrid procedure removal of the atrial fibrillation. This is a single procedure for both surgical epicardial by minimally invasive route (Thoracoscopy) without even flow controlled and supplemented if necessary by extra corporeal intracavitary route at the same time. This faster procedure combined with complete lesions have a higher success rate and less frequent re-hospitalizations of patients.
