Extended Rhythm SCreening for AtRial Fibrillation in Cryptogenic Stroke Patients
Atrial FibrillationStrokeRecent studies demonstrated that prolonged rhythm observation increases the detection of atrial fibrillation in patients prior diagnosed as cryptogenic stroke. Detection of atrial fibrillation in these patients has important therapeutic implications for the anticoagulation regimen. However, data on optimal monitoring duration and method of AF detection are limited.
Persistent Atrial Fibrillation Cryoballoon Ablation
Persistent Atrial FibrillationPatients with persistent irregular heartbeats also called persistent atrial fibrillation usually have a lower probability of curing their arrhythmia with ablation with heat called radiofrequency then those with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, as previous studies have shown. The emerging ablation with freeze(cryoablation) has not been studied for persistent atrial fibrillation but has been proven to be efficient in the paroxysmal type. We hypothesized that persistent atrial fibrillation will have a freedom of recurrence rate of 70% after use of cryoablation at one year of follow up.
Sternal ECG Patch Comparison Trial
SyncopePresyncope3 moreThis study is intended to compare the new Carnation Ambulatory Monitoring (CAM) System, a patch monitoring system, with the Holter monitoring system. Holters represent the current standard for continuous recording of the ECG over extended periods.
The Diagnosis Value of Serum Marker in Stroke Associated With Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation.
Ischemic StrokeThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic value of serum NT - proBNP in stroke associated with nonvalvular atrial fibrilltion.
Heart Rate and Cardiovascular Diseases Prognosis in People With Stable Coronary Artery Disease
Stable AnginaMyocardial Infarction9 moreThe Cardiovascular disease research using Linked Bespoke studies and Electronic Records (CALIBER) e-health database was the data resource for this study. CALIBER links patient records from four different data sources: Clinical Practice Research Database (CPRD), MINAP (Myocardial Ischaemia National Audit Project registry) Hospital Episodes Statistics (HES), the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Gene Expression Profiles in Patients With Permanent Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Versus Sinus Rhythm...
Mitral RegurgitationAtrial Fibrillation1 moreThe aim of this project is to determine the morphological criteria of apoptosis in atrial tissues of patients with AF versus SR at transcriptome and genomic size.
AMAZING PRAGUE (PRAGUE-12)
Atrial FibrillationRestore of Sinus Rhythm1 moreAim of the project is to assess the long-time clinical impact of surgical ablation (MAZE procedure) on patients who suffer from atrial fibrillation but are indicated to a cardiac surgery for other predominant cardiac diagnosis (heart valve surgery, coronary revascularization or combined surgery). In recent years, those patients are more and more frequently indicated to some type of MAZE procedure, without the real benefit of this procedure for patients has been assessed with an enough large, randomized study. Even though it is well known, that MAZE procedures declines the early postoperative incidence of atrial fibrillation, convincing data about its mid-term and long-term impact on patients and about the appearance of recidives of atrial fibrillation in long-time horizon are still missing. Our hypothesis assumes, that MAZE procedure will significantly decrease the appearance of atrial fibrillation one year after the operation, without increasing mortality or incidence of serious postoperative complications in thirty postoperative days.
A Case Control Study to Investigate the Possible Association Between Atrial Fibrillation and Endothelium...
Atrial FibrillationEndothelial FunctionEndothelial function is closely related to the hemostasis , vascular tone, and organ perfusion in cardiovascular system, and its dysfunction would cause overactivation of the coagulative system to induce thrombus formation. So we study the relationship between the endothelial function and atrial fibrillation.
A Ring-type Wearable Device for Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial FibrillationThis study investigates diagnostic performance of a ring-type wearable device for detecting atrial fibrillation. This is a prospective cohort registry study began after the date of IRB approval and until 31th Dec. 2019. The eligible criteria are (1) those who admitted the institution for elective direct-current cardioversion of persistent atrial fibrillation, and (2) aged 19 years or more. The exclusion criteria are (1) those aged less than 19 years, (2) those who are not eligible to perform cardioversion by any reasons. This study aims to recruit 200 participants in total. The participants are required to record photoplethysmographic signals by the ring device in addition to routine procedures of direct-current cardioversion, hence, the study is at minimal risk.
Therapy With New Oral Anticoagulants
Atrial FibrillationNon-valvular Atrial FibrillationThe aim of the present registry is to characterize and follow patients prospectively and retrospectively with renal impairment who have been prescribed apixaban for the prevention of stroke in atrial fibrillation, with a comparison to the characteristics and outcomes associated with warfarin therapy in this population.
