Foot CallusPlantar FascitisCalcaneal spur is one of the most common causes of chronic heel lower face pain without a traumatic cause. Obesity, sedentary life and advanced age play a role in its etiology. Mechanical overload is the main factor in the development of the disease. Impaired biomechanical factors in the foot cause repetitive microtraumas, traction periostitis and degenerative changes in the plantar fascia. The calcaneal spur is a result of this pathological process that creates pain. Many static radiological evaluation methods are used to evaluate the effect of foot anatomy in etiology. The talocalcaneal angle is one of them. It is the angle between the long axis of the talus and the long axis of the calcaneus. This angle shows the alignment of the back of the foot. It decreases with varus angulation of the back of the foot and increases with valgus angulation. In this study, it was aimed to determine the place of the talocalcaneal angle values measured in the lateral radiographs of the foot in the etiology of painful calcaneal spur formation.
Novel Stretching Device Versus Night Splints
Plantar FasciitisA set of 100 patients previously diagnosed with plantar fasciitis will be given initial questionnaires about their symptoms and randomly assigned either night splints or the novel calf stretching device. The participants will use each device for 6 weeks. At the end of those 6 weeks, they will return for a follow up questionnaire. The answers in the questionnaire will be analyzed to compare the effectiveness of night splints to calf stretching.
Comparison of Peloid Therapy and Kinesio Tape Effectiveness in Patients With Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar FasciitisThe Plantar Fascia (PF) is a thick, fibrous sheath located in the middle of the sole of the foot, starting from the tuber calcanei in the calcaneus and extending to the level of the middle phalanges. Plantar Fasciitis (PFs) is inflammation and thickening of the PF where it attaches to the calcaneus. PFs are the most common cause of heel pain. Diagnosis is made by physical examination and radiological examinations. On physical examination, there is localized tenderness medial to the calcaneal tuberosity. In the treatment of plantar fasciitis, there are many applied methods such as anti-inflammatory agents, orthostotic supports, night splints, physical therapy, corticosteroid applications, night splint use, plastering, rest, lifestyle modification, laser, taping, exercise and ESWT. Kinesio tapes, which have been used in the conservative treatment of plantar fasciitis in recent years, are elastic tapes similar to the structural properties and flexibility of human skin, without limiting joint movements. Peloidotherapy is a special balneotherapy method made with natural mud. In both domestic and international scientific studies on peloid treatment, it has been shown that pain in patients decreases, physical functions improve, quality of life increases, and the amount of painkillers use decreases. We could not find any study comparing Peloidotherapy and Kinesioband methods routinely used in the treatment of PF in the literature.
A Novel Approach to Plantar Fasciitis in the Aging Population
Plantar FasciitisChronicThe goal of this study is to determine whether improving foot strength through foot exercises and minimal footwear can provide improved outcomes over the short and long term. The main research question it aims to answer is: Can the minimal footwear intervention be used to improve the health of aging adults with plantar fasciitis?? Participants will be randomized into 2 groups. One group will receive minimal shoes and foot strengthening and foot flexibility exercises. The other group will receive supportive shoes, foot orthotic device and foot flexibility exercises. Participants' step count will also be monitored. Researchers will compare pain and physical function between the minimal footwear (MF) and the foot orthotic (FO) groups at each of the follow-up sessions.

Moreover, administering a CSI is relatively quick and easy for any Provider to perform, though it is not without potential deleterious side effects and risks, including fibroblast degradation, fat pad atrophy, skin depigmentation, and even plantar fascia rupture.
Effect of Kinesio Taping and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy on Plantar Fasciitis

Purpose: The aim of this study is to compare the acute effect of pain level, lower extremity functionality level and plantar fascia flexibility in patients with plantar fasciitis receiving Exportacorporeal Shock Therapy (ESWT). To compare the acute effect of pain level, lower extremity functionality level and plantar fascia flexibility in patients with plantar fasciitis who received KT application in addition to ESWT treatment. To compare the acute effect of pain level, lower extremity functionality level and plantar fascia flexibility in patients with plantar fasciitis receiving placebo application. 90 volunteers will be included in the study as ESWT (n=30), placebo ESWT (n=30), ESWT and KT (n=30) application groups. How effective is ESWT, ESWT and Kinesiotape versus placebo ESWT acutely in the treatment of plantar fasciitis?
