Cell Therapy for Diabetic Foot Ulcer

Diabetic Foot Ulcer Associated With Type II Diabetes MellitusWound Heal

Diabetes is a highly prevalent chronic disease that affects a large part of the world's population. Among the most costly complications is the diabetic foot ulcer, where its decompensation can result in limb amputation, a risk 10 to 20 times more frequent for diabetic population. Two underlying pathophysiological mechanisms are mainly identified: neuropathy and problems associated with vasculature and blood supply, in addition to the incidence of infections, which further impairs prognosis. Skin regeneration involves several overlapping and consecutive stages, which in the case of a diabetic patient are altered. Although healing protocols have been significantly improved at the country level, and there is also a large amount of medical supplies for treatment of these wounds, there are still patients with ulcers refractory to this care that end in amputation. In response to this, new treatments have emerged that use biomaterials and cells of the patient himself, which attempt to emulate the architecture and functionality of normal tissue. Cell therapy has gained strength in recent years, with more and more studies indicating the positive effect of cell application on healing of chronic wounds with underlying pathologies, such as diabetes. The product to be evaluated corresponds to a combined medical device, which conveys a cellular therapy, known as InbioDerm+C. The purpose of this Phase II clinical study is to determine whether InbioDerm+C treatment plus advanced healing is equal to or superior to advanced healing in a diabetic population with Wagner II grade foot ulcer treated in Villa Alemana primary care family centers, Las Américas, Juan Bautista Bravo Vega and Eduardo Frei.

Celliant Socks to Increase Tissue Oxygenation and Complete Wound Closure in Diabetic Foot Wounds...

Diabetic Foot Ulcer

This study is a prospective, multicenter, double-blind, 1:1 randomized clinical trial. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the use of Celliant Socks increases tissue oxygenation (via oxygen saturation, StO2) and incidence of wound closure in subjects with diabetic foot ulcers. This study will use hyperspectral imaging and wound assessment to measure these outcomes. The study will enroll 254 evaluable subjects total, 127 per arm to meet the Primary Endpoint. Enrollment may continue up to twenty-five hundred (2500) evaluable subjects total to meet the Key Secondary Endpoint of complete wound closure.

Appropriate Strategy of Surgical Treatment in Ischemic Diabetic Foot

Diabetic FootIschemic Diabetic Foot Ulcer1 more

This cohort study aims to evaluate the outcomes of appropriate surgical treatment strategies in diabetic foot ulcers with different rate of popliteal artery stenosis(<50% or ≥50%). In this study, patients with Texas university grade 2-4(stage C-D) ischemic diabetic foot ulcers will be included. Data of patients who underwent surgical treatment in the past will be retrospectively collected. The patients with follow-up time less than 12 months will continue to follow up. Also the postoperative patients will be prospectively collected. Effects of different surgical strategies, including wound healing therapy, interventional therapy and tibial transverse bone transport therapy will be measured by several indexes.

Multi-Center, Randomized Controlled Clinical Investigation Evaluating the Effect of Adipose Tissue...

Diabetic Foot Ulcer

This is a randomized controlled multi center study on diabetic patients with the aim of evaluating the efficacy of the adipose tissue processed with the SyntrFuge™ system in diabetic patients with diabetic foot ulcers. In particular, it will be evaluated whether the microsized fat graft will be able to shorten the healing times of these wounds. Patients will be randomized to the treatment group with adipose tissue processed with the SyntrFuge™ system (injection of autologous microsized adipose tissue) or to the control group represented by the standard of care.

ChitoCare Medical Wound Healing Gel PMCF Study on Healing of Chronic Wounds

Diabetic Foot UlcerVenous Leg Ulcer1 more

The purpose of this PMCF study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ChitoCare medical Wound Healing Gel for the healing of chronic wounds. The study will enroll patients with diabetic foot ulcer, venous ulcer or pressure ulcer. Patients will be randomly assigned to an active or control group. The active group will apply the gel to the wound, in addition to the standard of care, while the control group will receive only standard care. The study will last from 3 to 18 months for an individual patient (15-month recruitment period and 3 months of follow-up after the last patient is enrolled) or until event occurrence (complete wound healing/exclusion from the study). The study envisages four visits: Visit 1 - Screening and Inclusion visit, Visit 2 (after 4 weeks), Visit 3 (after 12 weeks) and Visit 4 - End of Study Visit: The final visit will take place when the event occurs (complete healing/exclusion from study). On each visit, the patients will have their wound photographed and assessed after debridement. Adverse events will be followed throughout the whole study.

Inforatio Technique to Promote Wound Healing of Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Diabetic Foot UlcerDiabetes4 more

This randomized clinical trial will examine the effect of inforatio technique on healing of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). Inforatio technique is a novel procedure developed by the research group. The definition of inforatio technique is application of small cuts in wound beds with punch biopsy tools without involving surrounding epithelia. The aim is to initiate an acute inflammatory response that will promote healing of the ulcers.

Safety, Tolerability and Efficacy of CYP-006TK in Adults With Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Diabetic Foot UlcerCutaneous Ulcer

Design: A randomised, controlled, prospective trial. Participants will be patients with non-healing diabetic foot ulcers. The study will aim to recruit 15 participants per study group (30 participants in total). Participants will be randomly allocated to one of two treatment groups: Group 1: CYP-006TK Group 2: Standard care This will be an open label study with respect to treatment allocation. However, the person reviewing images of the study ulcers to assess healing will be blind to the participant's treatment allocation. Participants assigned to Group 1 will be treated with CYP-0006TK dressings on 8 occasions over 4 weeks. The dressings will be changed every 3 or 4 days. After the first 4 weeks, participants in Group 1 will revert to standard care for the rest of the study. Participants assigned to Group 2 will have their ulcer treated with standard care throughout the study. Participants will attend a total of 16 scheduled visits over 24 weeks. There will be a mixture of on-site (hospital/clinic) visits, and home visits. The study will end 24 weeks after the initiation of treatment, unless the study ulcer is completely headed before then.
