MargheRITA (Remote Intelligence for Therapeutic Adherence)
Multiple MyelomaSolitary Plasmacytoma12 moreIt is essential to improve clinical efficiency and management of hematological and oncological patients treated on an outpatient basis. The most promising operative way to achieve this result is the development of tele-oncology platforms, that allow not only a telemedicine visit, but also the patient support in the daily management of the disease and related disorders, as well as treatments and their complications. In this perspective, the RITA communication platform should be able to support the patient, the caregiver, the physician and the general practitioner in the management of the disease and its treatments.
Ravuconazole in Preventing Fungal Infections in Patients Undergoing Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation...
Breast CancerChronic Myeloproliferative Disorders10 moreRATIONALE: Antifungals such as ravuconazole may be effective in preventing fungal infections in patients undergoing chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of ravuconazole in preventing fungal infections in patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
Beclomethasone in Treating Patients With Graft-Versus-Host Disease of the Esophagus, Stomach, Small...
Breast CancerChronic Myeloproliferative Disorders10 moreRATIONALE: Beclomethasone may be an effective treatment for graft-versus-host disease. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of beclomethasone in treating patients who have graft-versus-host disease of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, or colon.
Massage Therapy Given by Caregiver in Treating Quality of Life of Young Patients Undergoing Treatment...
Accelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous LeukemiaAcute Undifferentiated Leukemia88 moreThis clinical trial studies massage therapy given by caregiver in treating quality of life of young patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Massage therapy given by a caregiver may improve the quality of life of young patients undergoing treatment for cancer
Safety Study of Human Myeloid Progenitor Cells (CLT-008) After Cord Blood Transplant for Hematologic...
LeukemiaLymphoma3 moreEx vivo expanded human myeloid progenitor cells (hMPCs; CLT-008) have the potential to accelerate neutrophil recovery in patients receiving myeloablative conditioning as part of an umbilical cord blood transplant for hematologic cancer. In this study, the safety and tolerability of CLT-008 administered 24 hours after an umbilical cord blood transplant will be determined by monitoring for adverse reactions, neutrophil and platelet recovery, hematopoietic chimerism, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and infections.
Alemtuzumab and Glucocorticoids in Treating Newly Diagnosed Acute Graft-Versus-Host Disease in Patients...
Breast CancerChronic Myeloproliferative Disorders10 moreRATIONALE: Alemtuzumab and glucocorticoids, such as prednisone or methylprednisolone, may be an effective treatment for acute graft-versus-host disease caused by a donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving alemtuzumab together with glucocorticoids works in treating newly diagnosed acute graft-versus-host disease in patients who have undergone donor stem cell transplant.
Sirolimus, Tacrolimus, and Antithymocyte Globulin in Preventing Graft-Versus-Host Disease in Patients...
Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersGraft Versus Host Disease9 moreRATIONALE: Giving chemotherapy and total-body irradiation before a donor peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It also stops the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. The donated stem cells may replace the patient's immune cells and help destroy any remaining cancer cells (graft-versus-tumor effect). Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can also make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving tacrolimus, sirolimus, antithymocyte globulin, and methotrexate before and after transplant may stop this from happening. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well sirolimus, tacrolimus, and antithymocyte globulin work in preventing graft-versus-host disease in patients undergoing a donor stem cell transplant for hematological cancer .

Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersGraft Versus Host Disease5 moreRATIONALE: Giving low doses of chemotherapy, such as fludarabine, and radiation therapy before a donor bone marrow or stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It also stops the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. The donated stem cells may replace the patient's immune system and help destroy any remaining cancer cells (graft-versus-tumor effect). Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can also make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving cyclophosphamide, mycophenolate mofetil, and tacrolimus after transplant may stop this from happening. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying cyclophosphamide and/or mycophenolate mofetil with or without tacrolimus to see which is the best regimen in treating patients who are undergoing a donor bone marrow or stem cell transplant for hematologic cancer.
Campath-1H + FK506 and Methylprednisolone for GVHD
Breast CancerChronic Myeloproliferative Disorders10 moreRATIONALE: Alemtuzumab, tacrolimus, and methylprednisolone may be an effective treatment for graft-versus-host disease caused by a donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving alemtuzumab together with tacrolimus and methylprednisolone works in treating acute graft-versus-host disease in patients who have undergone donor stem cell transplant.

Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersGraft Versus Host Disease5 moreRATIONALE: Tacrolimus and mycophenolate mofetil may be an effective treatment for graft-versus-host disease caused by donor stem cell transplantation. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving tacrolimus together with mycophenolate mofetil works in preventing acute graft-versus-host disease in patients who are undergoing donor stem cell transplantation for advanced hematologic cancer.
