A clinical Evaluation to determine metal ion release from 4th generation metal-on-metal hip articulating surfaces in cementless total hip arthroplasty.

The purpose of this study is to further investigate rituximab in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and to evaluate magnetic resonance imaging of the joints as a possible method to improve the evaluation of treatments.

This is a phase III, randomized, controlled, double-blind, parallel group, international study in approximately 750 patients with active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) who are naive to Methotrexate (MTX) therapy. Rheumatoid Factor (RF)-positive and RF-negative patients will be enrolled and will be allocated equally between 3 treatment arms.

Osteoarthritis (OA) affects aged above 45 years. RF has been used for several painful conditions. There have been a few attempts to use RF current for the treatment of painful conditions of joints of the extremities. It was also used for the treatment of painful conditions of the hip joint.

The purpose is to found new biomarker that differentiate septic arthritis and Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis in children. Synovial liquid and blood samples with proteomic, MiRNA searching, multiplex cytokine analysis and cellular phenotyping, will be analysed. The results for each data will be compared in function of the disease to search discriminant markers. On behalf with this result specific pathways could be identified .

Quadriceps femoris (QF) atrophy is seen in rheumatoid arthritis and knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients. Exercise therapy is mile stone in knee OA patients also it can help thicken QF muscle of RA patients. We primarily aimed to demonstrate the influence of 4 weeks of knee isometric home-based training on QF muscle parts thickness and pennation angle measurements of RA patients with ultrasonography (USG). This study included 12 patients with RA, 12 patients with knee OA as positive control group and 13 volunteers as healthy control group. All participants were given 4 weeks of quadriceps-hamstring isometric home-based training. At baseline and at the end of the program, WOMAC and Lequesne algofunctional index scores of knee OA patients and DAS28-CRP scores of RA patients were recorded. Dominant knee thickness and pennation angle measurements of QF muscle parts were evaluated by ultrasonography.

N=104 juvenile idiopathic arthritis patients diagnosed after ILAR criteria with unilateral persistent knee arthritis. They will be randomly assigned into two groups; group 1 will receive genicular nerve block, group 2 intra-articular triamcinolone. Both groups will be examined by SOLAR ultrasound scoring system, Visual analogue scale and Lysholm score at 0, 2 and 12 weeks. A semi-quantitative score will be used to assess tenderness and swelling at the same intervals.
