Fatigue in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid ArthritisRheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a disease characterized by autoimmune systemic inflammatory polyarthritis, particularly affecting the joints of the hands. In addition to joint findings, extra-articular symptoms such as muscle pain, fatigue, fever and malaise are also common. Fatigue is characterized by a feeling of extreme tiredness and persistent exhaustion. The prevalence of fatigue is between 14% and 15% in healthy adults. Although fatigue is common in patients with RA, it may remain in the background in clinical evaluation. The etiology of fatigue in RA is related to inflammation, pain, psychosocial factors and sleep disturbance, it has not been fully explained.
Sonographic Signs of Gouty Arthritis in a Cohort of Egyptian Patients: a Cross Sectional Multicenter...
Sonographic Signs of Gouty Arthritis in Diagnosed and Suspected PatientsThe study is a cross sectional observational multicenter study. It is established in collaboration with the Egyptian college of rheumatology study group (ECRsg). It is conditioned that all the study participants had either mono- or oligo-arthritis with effusion of the knee or the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint in patients with a known history of gout or at high risk. Patients with any known chronic arthritis, comprising rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, neuropathic arthritis, seronegative spondyloarthropathy, will be excluded from the study. None of the participants had a history of intra-articular injection or aspiration in the scanned joints for 3 months prior to the inclusion in the study. The sonographers will be blinded for clinical data and the EULAR scanning protocol for the knee and 1st MTP will be considered [2]. Further, scanning of the double contour sign over the femur condyles anteriorly and posteriorly in sagittal planes will be assessed. All the sonographers in the study had an experience between 5 and 10 years in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Prognostic Evaluation of COVID-19 in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients
Covid19Rheumatoid ArthritisCOVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV2 virus. The objective of our study is to analyze the progression and the severity of COVID-19 in patients with RA. Indeed, few data are available on this subject, and this would allow us to improve management of COVID-19 in these potential at-risk patients.

Pilot Study of Ultrasound in Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid ArthritisLittle is currently known as to the predictive value of ultrasound in guiding the decision to taper drug treatment in patients with stable rheumatoid arthritis, nor the influence that patients' views and opinions regarding their medications may have upon this. In this study, patients with stable rheumatoid arthritis will undergo a simple examination of their joints to look for any swelling or tenderness followed by an ultrasound scan to look for joint inflammation. Half of the patients will also complete an interview to assess their views and opinions of arthritis drug treatment. The study will be completed in a single patient visit - no invasive tests will be performed, and no changes to treatment will be made. This study is being conducted as part of a Masters degree from Newcastle University. The results of this study will be used to inform the feasibility of inclusion of ultrasound assessment within the design of a future PhD study to investigate potential markers of remission in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
Post-marketing Study Assessing the Long-Term Safety of Abatacept
Rheumatoid ArthritisThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the risk of infections and malignancies among Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients treated with Abatacept compared to other RA treatments.
A Retrospective Chart Review on the Use of Biologics in Monotherapy for the Treatment of Patients...
Rheumatoid ArthritisThis non-interventional, retrospective, cross sectional chart review study will evaluate the management of rheumatoid arthritis patients with a biologic in monotherapy. Data from eligible patients will be collected from the patient's last visit on the prior rheumatoid arthritis treatment and from the most recent visit for the biological monotherapy.
