Insulin ResistancePolycystic Ovary Syndrome2 moreThe effect of Lactobacillus rhamnosus supplementation on body weight, hyperandrogenism and insulin resistance in overweight and obesity women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome will be analysed.
Liraglutide 3mg (Saxenda) on Weight, Body Composition, Hormonal and Metabolic Parameters in Obese...
Pre DiabetesPolycystic Ovary Syndrome1 moreThere is a growing need to develop pharmacologic interventions to improve metabolic function in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Given that PCOS is a frequent condition and weight loss is essential but difficult to achieve, it is important to study if the effect on body weight reported in other studies can be confirmed in a selected population of hyperandrogenic patients, especially with medications currently approved for weight reduction. High dose liraglutide alone results in significant weight reduction in obese women without PCOS. There is limited data on weight loss with high dose liraglutide in non-diabetic females with PCOS treated with this agent . Studies on the effect of anti-obesity medication combined with lifestyle changes on body weight and composition and androgen excess in obese women diagnosed with PCOS are lacking. The investigators aim to elucidate the most efficacious weight reduction regime in obese PCOS women. The investigators further hope to determine which treatment(s) addressing the multifaceted disturbances of this disorder in patients with PCOS and obesity emerges as the preferable therapy.
Letrozole vs Clomiphene Citrate for Induction of Ovulation in Women With Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome...
Polycystic Ovary SyndromeInfertilityIt was randomised controlled study to compare the efficacy of clomiphene and letrozole in polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS) women with infertility. The aim was to select more appropriate treatment for ovulation induction in PCOS women.
Effect of GnRH Agonist vs GnRH Antagonist on IVF/ICSI Outcomes in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Patients....
In Vitro FertilizationIntracytoplasmic Sperm Injection2 moreThis prospective, non-randomised, open-label, clinical trial is conducting on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) subjects to compare the effects of two pituitary suppression regimens; GnRH Agonist-Long Protocol and GnRH Antagonist-Flexible Protocol on clinical and embryological IVF/ICSI outcomes, and on the follicular fluid levels of Placental Growth Factor (PlGF); which is known for his pivotal role in the regulation of ovulation, embryo development, and implantation
Repeated Doses of GnRH Agonist as Oocyte Triggering in Antagonist Protocol for Patients With Polycystic...
Polycystic Ovary SyndromeThis is a prospective, randomized, proof-of-concept study, designed to compare the IVF results in patients diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) defined as per the ESHRE/ASRM Rotterdam criteria (2003) undergoing in-vitro fertilization/ intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) in antagonist protocol. Patients were randomized into two groups. Group A: single dose of GnRHa 0.2 mg, 35 h prior to oocyte retrieval, and Group B: 0.2 mg GnRHa 35 h prior to oocyte retrieval + a repeat dose of 0.1 mg 12 h following the 1st dose. 12 h post-trigger, luteinizing hormone (LH), progesterone (P4) values will be estimated.
SGLT2 Inhibitors in Patients With PCOS
Polycystic Ovary SyndromePolycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder, with a prevalence of 5% to 15% in premenopausal women. Patients with PCOS presents as abnormal menstruation, ovulation disorders and/or hyperandrogenemia, and often accompanied by insulin resistance and other metabolic abnormalities. Metformin has been clarified as an option in patients with PCOS. However, the clinical responses to metformin are limited and different. Sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors are novel drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, with weight loss, reducing insulin resistance and cardiovascular benefits. Limited data is available on the efficacy of SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with PCOS.
Comparison Between The Effects Of Different Frequencies Of Ultrasonic Cavitation On Abdominal Adiposity...
Polycystic Ovary SyndromeThirty women diagnosed with PCOS had participated in the study. They suffered from amenorrhea or oligo-menorrhea and subcapsular follicles. Their ages were from 20-35 years. Their BMI was from 30 - 35 kg/m². Their waist/hip ratio was ˃ 0.85. Their LH/FSH ratio was ≥ 1.5. They were recruited randomly from the outpatient clinic of gynecology in Minya governorate hospital. They were randomly assigned into two groups equal in number: (A and B); group A (n=15) received 40000HZ ultrasound cavitation, group B (n=15) received 2600HZ ultrasound cavitation. Treatment time was 30 minutes /sessions, 3 times/ week for two months. Both groups (A and B) received a low caloric diet (1200 Kcal/day). All participants had their medical treatment as prescribed by the physician.
CANA/Met in Non-diabetic Women With PCOS
Polycystic Ovary SyndromePolycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is associated with hyperinsulinaemia, hyperandrogenaemia, impaired glucose metabolism and aberrant adipokines production from the adipose tissue, is a heterogeneous reproductive and endocrine disorder.Currently, metformin, a classical and common insulin sensitizer that can reduce both hyperinsulinemia and hyperandrogenemia, is widely used for patients with PCOS. SGLT-2 inhibitor, a novel glucose-lowering medication, have been shown to have positive effects on reducing body weight, blood pressure and cardiovascular events in individuals with diabetes mellitus. However, evidences related to its management in non-diabetic PCOS women are limited. Hence, we want to give canangliflozin combined with metformin to women with PCOS to see its effect on insulin resistance.
Effect of Ubiquinol Supplementation on Ovulation Induction in Clomiphene Citrate Resistance
Polycystic Ovarian SyndromeObjective: To evaluate potential benefits of adding the active form of Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinol) to Clomiphene Citrate compared with Human Menopausal Gonadotropins (hMG) in Clomiphene Citrate resistant PCOS patients. Methods: 148 PCOS Patients with Clomiphene Citrate resistance were randomized into two groups (A and B). In group A, controlled ovarian stimulation was done by Clomiphene Citrate 150 mg daily (from 2nd till 6th day of cycle) together with Ubiquinol starting from 2nd day till day of hCG triggering in a dose of 100 mg orally once daily. In group B, hMG was given from 2nd day of the cycle in a dose ranging from 75 to 225 IU. Serial transvaginal ultrasonography was done starting on cycle day 8 and continued till size of leading follicle reaches 18 mm or more then ovulation triggering was done. Thereafter, patients were advised for a timed intercourse (TI) after 36 hours. A blood sample was withdrawn seven days after hCG triggering, for measurement of serum progesterone. If the Patient presented with a missed period for one week, a serum sample was sent for β-hCG.
LIPT - Liraglutide in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Polycystic Ovary SyndromeCardiovascular DiseasePolycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects 5-10% of women in fertile age. PCOS is associated with metabolic syndrom, diabetes and and increased risk og cardiovascular disease. The study investigates the effect af intervention with GLP-1-analog on risk markers of cardiovascular disease in women with PCOS. 70 women will be included in af RCT. Hypothesis: GLP-1-analog treatment in women with PCOS (without diabetes) will result in a beneficial reduction in risk markers of vascular thrombosis and early cardiovascular disease.
