Experience and Enhancement: Improving Colonoscopic Polyp Detection

Polyps

The study looks at 2 hypotheses in 2 patient groups: Are more experienced endoscopists better at detecting subtle lesions (polyps) on the lining of the colon (large bowel) than less experienced endoscopists? Do existing and new techniques that can highlight lesions on the lining of the bowel improve endoscopists ability to spot them? This will be tested using video footage of endoscopies from 2 patient groups: those with a normal colon linig and those with colitis (bowel lining inflamation)

Real-time Diagnosis of Colorectal Polyps Using Narrow-Band Imaging

Colon Polyps

Accurate optical diagnosis of colorectal polyps could allow a "resect and discard" strategy with surveillance intervals determined based on the results of the optical biopsy. The investigators perform education to characterize the histology of diminutive and small colorectal polyps by using narrow band imaging (NBI). After education program, the investigators prospectively evaluate real-time optical biopsy analysis of polyps with NBI by 15 gastroenterologists at a medical check up center.

CRC Screening Using mSEPT9 (Methylated Septin 9) in Chinese Population

Colorectal CancerAdenomatous Polyp of Colon3 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of the SEPT9 gene methylation assay in Colorectal cancer (CRC) high-risk population in Chinese hospitals using the opportunistic screening method. The trial plans to evaluate a Chinese domestic SEPT9 assay kit produced by BioChain (Beijing) Science and Technology Corporation, who is a close partner of Epigenomics AG, the producer for Epi proColon 2.0 CE.

Prevalence and Topography of Adenomas in 40-49 Year Old Patients With a Family History of Colon...

Colorectal CancerColon Polyps1 more

Conflicting guideline recommendations for screening colonoscopy result due to scant data upon which to develop appropriate recommendations. No previous study has compared the prevalence of advanced adenomas or adenomas (any size) among 40-49 year old individuals with a first degree relative (FDR) with colorectal cancer (CRC) versus 40-49 year old average risk individuals with no family history of CRC. The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of colon adenomas in 40-49 year old individuals and identify risk factors associated with the presence of advanced adenomas. This data will provide evidence to determine appropriate colon cancer screening guidelines in 40-49 year old persons with a family history of colon polyps or colorectal cancer.

The Clinical Study on Combizym and Bifidobacteri to Prevent the Recurrence of Colon Polyps

CombizymBifidobacteri1 more

The study hypothesis is whether digestion enzyme(Combizym) and intestinal flora drugs(Bifidobacteria) can decease recurrence rate of colon polyps

Colorectal Polyp Resection Adequacy

Polyp Resection Adequacy

The purpose of this study is to determine the best way to ensure that polyps are completely removed by evaluating the borders of the removed polyp. If a polyp is found that meets the size requirements for the study, the investigators will take extra biopsies of the margin to determine if there is any abnormal tissue or cancer at these borders.

CUFF-assisted Colonoscopy vs Standard Colonoscopy

Colonic PolypColonoscopy

The goal of this study is to evaluate the interest of second-generation Endocuff Vision (ECV) to improve Adenoma detection rate and / or Polyp detection rate in routine colonoscopy. This is a prospective comparative cohort, on 1034 patients, 517 patients with ECV in prospective group and 517 without ECV in retrospective group

Microbiome Test for the Detection of Colorectal Polyps

Colon Polyp

The main goal of this trial is to validate a new method for colorectal polyp screening based on stool microbiome signatures. 600 Individuals who are scheduled / planned to undergo a colonoscopy will be recruited for this study and a stool sample and an optional saliva sample will be collected. Analyze process will be conducted on the microbiome of the samples given.

Stool-based SDC2 DNA Methylation Test for the Detection of Colorectal Advanced Adenomatous Polyps...

Colorectal CancerColorectal Adenomatous Polyp1 more

The primary objective is to compare the performance of Stool-based SDC2 DNA Methylation Test and commercially available Fecal Immunochemical Test(FIT) , on the detection rate of advanced adenomatous polyps and colorectal cancer in Chinese population. Subjects with positive results in either test will receive colonoscopy. Lesions will be confirmed as malignant or precancerous by colonoscopy and histopathologic examination.

Incidence of Malignant and Premalignant Endometrial Polyp in Asymptomatic and Symptomatic Postmenopausal...

Endometrial Polyp.Malignant and Pre-malignant Changes in the Polyp

The prevalence of endometrial polyp is 24% in the general population but is much higher in postmenopausal women. The incidence of malignant or pre-malignant findings in endometrial polyps ranges from 2 to 10% in menopausal women. Removal of endometrial polyps in postmenopausal symptomatic women is the standard of care, same goes for asymptomatic women with risk factors for endometrial malignancy, however treatment of asymptomatic postmenopausal women with endometrial polyp but no risk factors is disputable. In light of ambiguity in literature regarding the rate of malignant and pre-malignant findings in polyps in asymptomatic post-menopausal women, the investigators are asking to conduct a prospective study in order to evaluate and compare the incidence of malignant and pre-malignant changes in symptomatic and asymptomatic postmenopausal women with endometrial polyp
