Virtual Reality in the Operating Room

AnesthesiaIntravenous5 more

This is a randomized, controlled trial designed to investigate whether the use of virtual reality immersive relaxation during hand/arm operations can allow for a relaxing operating room experience for patients while potentially reducing anesthesia requirements.

Evaluation of Postoperative Pain With Eddy Tips (EPPET)

PainPostoperative

This investigation will focus on the use of EDDY tips, because it is known that the complete debridement of the canal is very difficult, which leads to an accumulation of tissue debris, bacteria and their products, resulting in persistent periradicular inflammation. So, it's of great importance, the study of other approaches of cleaning and disinfecting the root canal, which at the same time, may produce a lower risk of postoperative pain. The above mentioned topics have never been analysed simultaneously with the use of EDDY tips, and the evaluation of the postoperative pain was never addressed. This research is of great clinical interest, due to the complexity of root canal system, with isthmuses, ramifications and dentinal tubules, that make the total elimination of bacteria impossible, even with the best clinical protocols, because the irrigants cannot penetrate the dentinal tubules, and the postoperative pain is an exhausting factor for patients. Therefore, a new protocol, with better disinfection rate and less postoperative pain, will be able to increase the success rate of endodontic treatments, allowing to save condemned teeth.

Comparison of FAUCS vs. Misgav Ladach

PainPostoperative1 more

This study aims to compare two techniques for performing a cesarean delivery: Misgav Ladach versus French Ambulatory Cesarean Section (FAUCS). The second techniques has been claimed to reduce post-operative pain, the need for analgesics, and reduce the time for ambulation. Such comparison has not been done so far, and this study will examined if indeed the FAUCS techniques offers any advantages.

"Effect of Sonic Activation Assisted Irrigation and Apical Enlargement on Postoperative Endodontic...

Postoperative PainEndodontically Treated Teeth

The purpose of this randomized clinical trial is to evaluate the incidence of postoperative pain after retreatment after apical enlargement and sonic activation assisted irrigation. The presence of postoperative pain will assess after retreatment cases at 12, 24, 48, 72 hrs and 1 week.

Acute Pain Rate of Single Versus Two-visit Root Canal Treatment of Teeth With Necrotic Pulps

PainPostoperative

Aim to compare acute pain rate after single-visit ortwo-visits treatment of teeth with necrotic pulp and apical periodontitis .90 teeth with a diagnosis of pulp necrosis and apical radiolucency at the apex.Working length was established with EAL and confirmed radiographically. Flex-R files were used to complete canal preparation. Level ofdiscomfort were recorded and cases with acute postoperative pain.

Effect of Intraoperative Paravertebral Block on Postoperative Pain and Recovery in Patients Undergoing...

Scoliosis

Pain management after scoliosis surgery is challenging for the anesthesiologists. This surgery causes severe postoperative pain and patients undergoing these operations are children or adolescents who are increased pain sensation compared with adults. Therefore, we aim to evaluate whether intraoperative paravertebral block (PVB) decreases postoperative pain in these patients. Thirty-two patients scheduled for mechanical correction due to scoliosis will be divided into PVB (n=16) and control (n=16) groups. Randomly selected patients of the PVB group are performed PVB with 0.2% ropivacaine on both sides. In contrast, PVB are not performed in the control group.

Cryoablation of Intercostal Nerves for Better Control of Postoperative Pain After Thoracic and Thoracoabdominal...

Aneurysm

The purpose of the registry is to evaluate the peri-operative and short- term outcomes of intercostal nerves cryoablation for post-operative pain control after open thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms repair. The cryoablation procedure is one of the opportunities for pain control after thoracotomy. So, it is routinely performed in major several centers in aortic surgery around the world as a part of the TAA and TAAA procedure. The Registry will include approximately 200 patients treated from January 2022 to January 2024 for thoracic or thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm by means of open surgery and in whom intraoperative intercostal nerves cryoablation will be performed; to reach 200 patients, the enrolments can be extended until January 2027.

PainPostoperative

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there is any difference in incidence of shoulder tip pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy between the groups with moderate neuromuscular block and deep neuromuscular block.

Minocycline to Reduce Pain After Carpal Tunnel Release

Chronic PainPost-operative Pain

The investigators are looking at whether peri-operative minocycline will reduce the duration of pain after minor hand surgery: carpal tunnel release and trigger finger release. The investigators' hypothesis is that minocycline will reduce post-operative pain.
