The Effect of Instrument-assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Technique on Neck Pain

Neck Pain

In the literature, studies reporting that symptoms such as limitation of motion in the neck, reduced functionality, and disability and depression occur in cervical pain are frequently encountered. Treatments such as medical therapy, intramuscular injections, and traditional physical therapy modalities have been used in the treatment of these symptoms. In recent years, the popularity of the instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) technique in the treatment of soft tissue-related problems has increased and has been widely used in studies. This technique is a low-cost, easy-to-apply, and accessible method that is frequently used in extremity soft tissue problems and trigger point treatment. The investigators did not find any study on the effectiveness of the IASTM technique on pain and functionality in cervical region disorders. For this reason, the primary purpose of the study is; While the effectiveness of the IASTM technique on pain and functionality in patients with neck pain caused by cervical disc herniation, the secondary purpose is to reveal the effect of IASTM on anxiety-depression.

Cervical Stabilization Exercises on Respiratory Strength in Chronic Neck Pain

Neck Pain

This project was a Randomized control trial conducted to check the effects of Cervical Stabilization Exercises on Respiratory Strength in Chronic Neck Pain Patients with Forward Head Posture, duration of study was of 6 months, convenient sampling was done, subject following eligibility criteria from Jinnah Hospital Lahore, were randomly allocated in two groups via lottery method, baseline assessment was done, Group A participants were given baseline treatment protocol for 4 weeks which included 3 sessions per week. Heating Pad applied for 15 min and TENS (Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation) for 10 min. After that Cervical isometric exercises performed in sitting (10sec hold, 10 to 15 reps). Group B was experimental group and participants were given baseline treatment in addition to Cervical Stabilization exercises for 4 weeks which included 3 sessions per week. The baseline measurement was taken on day one for Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NRPS) and Neck Disability Index (NDI). Forward head posture assessed by measuring Cranio Vertebral Angle (CVA). Respiratory muscle strengths measured by Spirometer and SBC (single breath count). All the measurements repeated at the end of fourth week. Data was analyzed by using SPSS version 20.

Bowen's Technique In Postural Neck Pain Among Dentist

Neck Pain

No previous randomized control trial has investigated the effectiveness of Bowen's technique on health status in dentists suffering from postural neck Neck pain. Moreover, there is limited evidence and low agreement regarding the effect of Bowen's therapy on Neck pain. Thus, this study aims to answer the question: bowmen's technique is effective for improving Neck pain dentists' function by reducing pain, and disability, and improving posture, and health status, without need for ergonomic alternation?"

Comparison of Ischemic Compression Therapy and Kinesiotaping in Chronic Neck Pain

Neck Pain

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of ischemic compression (IC) and kinesio taping (KT) treatments on blood flow, tissue stiffness and thickness, pain, and joint range of motion on the upper trapezius muscle of individuals with chronic neck pain. Methods: In this study 22 individuals between the ages of 20-35 were randomly assigned to 3 groups: Group1, which received IC; Group2, received KT; Group3 (control) received exercise, for 2 days and 4 weeks. Pain was measured with VAS, pain threshold with J-Tech Algometer, range of motion with BASELINE Digital Inclinometer, ultrasonographic measurements for blood flow, tissue stiffness and tissue thickness using Acuson S3000. All measurements were performed twice; before and after treatment.

Effects of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) and Bio Electro-Magnetic Regulation (BEMER)...

Neck Pain

Neck pain is a common ailment in the United States. Although there are several different treatments and approaches to help individuals with neck pain, the number affected by this condition has been steadily increasing. OMT has been shown to be helpful in the treatment of neck pain. In fact, the use of OMT has been shown to increase mobility of the myofascial tissues, visceral motion and decrease pain in patients with neck pain. Bio Electro-Magnetic Regulation (BEMER) Therapy is a therapeutic modality that deploys a biorhythmically defined stimulus through a Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF), which leads to an increase in blood flow. The positive effects of BEMER on the circulation has been shown to result in significant increases in arteriovenous oxygen difference, number of open capillaries, arteriolar and venular flow volume, and flow rate of red blood cells in the microvasculature. Therefore, BEMER can potentially be used in the treatment of neck pain by improving microcirculation in muscular tissue. Therefore, it is possible that the combination of OMT and BEMER therapy may provide additive effects in reducing neck pain. The purpose of this study is to investigate the individual and combined effects of OMT and BEMER therapy on neck pain in adults.

Effect of First Rib Mobilization With Balloon Breathing Exercises

Neck Pain

As Non specific chronic neck pain is effecting quality of life in many ways, there are many studies evaluating the methods to treat that problem. This study aims to determine Effect of first rib mobilization with balloon breathing exercises in non specific chronic neck pain. Patients would be divided into two groups and both received conventional treatment. Group A got conventional treatment only but Group B got 1st rib mobilization with balloon breathing exercises in addition.

Using Mobile Application for Rehabilitation in Patients With Chronic Neck Pain

Neck PainChronic Pain

The aim of this study is to reduce pain, increase range of motion, increase the endurance of deep cervical flexors muscles, and increase quality of life with mobile application in the treatment of patients with chronic neck pain. Although many benefits of exercises have been proven, the effectiveness, follow-up and continuity of exercise will be investigated with mobile application tracking.

Effects of Scapular Stabilization Versus Thoracic Spine Extension Exercises in Mechanical Neck Pain...

Neck Pain

Mechanical neck pain is posteriorly occurring non-specific pain that originates from the superior nuchal line and extends to the first thoracic vertebrae. It is exacerbated by sustained neck postures, neck movements or cervical muscle palpation. The aim of study will be to compare the effects of scapular stabilization versus thoracic spine extension exercises on pain, disability and range of motion in patients with mechanical neck pain.
