No professional athlete would consider performing without careful attention to strengthening and physical preparedness, yet surgeons routinely place rigorous demands on their bodies without any training plan specific to their work demands. A series of exercises were developed to help stretch and strengthen the key core muscles to support surgeons during operating to prevent neck pain. This study hypothesizes that Neck pain discomfort will decrease following an 8-week intervention program compared to baseline reported scores.

Chronic Non-specific Neck Pain

Chronic neck pain has a high prevalence in developed countries, being one of the main causes of years lived with disability and deterioration of the quality of life. Telerehabilitation is presented as a resource capable of favoring, with its development and implementation, the transition to a universal and quality health service. The main objective of the study is to assess the change in disability produced by a telerehabilitation program (applied in the intervention group) in patients with chronic and nonspecific neck pain compared to the recommendation of home exercises (control group). The study that will be carried out will be a controlled and randomized clinical trial (ECCA), single-blind, longitudinal and prospective with two groups (intervention group and control group). The main study variables that are intended to be analyzed pre and post intervention are disability, quality of life, pain, adherence, and depression and anxiety. The study will take place between June 2020 and May 2021 in specialized physiotherapy clinics.

BACKGROUND Non-specific back and neck pain (BNP) dominates sick-listing. A program of cognitive-behavioral rehabilitation for subacute and chronic BNP was compared, with 18-month follow-up, with traditional primary care concerning sick-listing and health-care visits. METHODS After stratification to age (44 (years) and younger/45 and older) and subacute/chronic BNP (= full-time sick-listed 43-84/85-730 days respectively), 125 primary-care patients were randomized to a rehabilitation center or continued health-center care. Outcome measures were Return-to-work (=the proportion who regained work ability for at least 30 consecutive days), the proportion with Work ability at different time points, Total sick-listing (expressed in whole days) and the total number of Visits (to physicians, physiotherapists etc.) 1-18 months and corresponding six-month periods. For the analyses were used t-test, z-test, generalized estimating equations and a mixed, linear model.

Between 45% and 70% of the general population suffers neck pain at some point in their lives, making it one of the most frequent reasons for taking sick leave. Given its importance in physiotherapy at clinical level, we seek to observe how a scapular mobilization technique might influence the neural mechanosensitivity of the median nerve as measured by Upper Limb Neural Test 1 (ULNT1) on subjects with neck pain. Hypotheses and objectives. Performing a scapular mobilization technique on subjects with neck pain and a positive ULNT1 improves the patient's response to said test. It also decreases the patient's neck pain as measured using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain and increases grip strength. Material and method. A single-blind clinical trial was performed on subjects randomly assigned to either a treatment group or control group. The sample consisted of 60 subjects (N = 60) -30 in the treatment group (n = 30) and the other 30 as a control (n = 30) -and was made up of patients with neck pain and a positive ULNT1. A scapular mobilization was performed on the first group and on the second, a calcaneus abduction adduction on the opposite side from the positive ULNT1 as a placebo.

In this modern era, Text Neck is a new term used to describe neck pain and associated damage caused by continuous flexed posture due to excessive use of smartphones for a long time. The term text neck was first introduced by Dr. Dean L. Fishman, who is US based chiropractor. Text neck can also be described as overuse syndrome caused by repetitive stress on neck due to prolonged flexion. There is coordinated work between cervical spine and surrounding structure such as muscles, ligament, nerves and bones. In addition, any nerve compression at cervical spine leads to radiating pain in neck, shoulder and arm. Previous literature reported use of cell phone is very common in population of 18 to 44 years of age. Seventy nine percent (79%) population have smartphone with them all the time. Technology has become essential part of modern lifestyle. Sustained flexed posture forces the head to exert weight on neck of varying degrees. Weight of neutral head is 10 to 12 pounds and increases 6 times 1 inch forward movement of head. Children are at higher risk because of their large head size. This study will be a Randomized clinical trial with objective to reduce neck pain and disability in patients with text neck syndrome. Two groups will be designed, in one group ElDOA (n=20) and in other group post facilitation technique (n=20) will be applied. Patients will be recruited into two groups by consecutive sampling by non-replacement lottery method with equal no. of chits. Patients will be assessed by Numeric pain rating scale (NPRS), Neck disability index (NDI), smartphone addiction scale before and after treatment. Both groups will receive heating pad as common treatment first after that group A will be treated with ELDOA and group B will be treated with Post-facilitation. Session of 6 weeks with 3 days per week will be conducted. After that post treatment assessment will be done.

Chronic Mechanical Neck Pain

Eligible subjects with chronic neck pain will be randomly allocated to one of two intervention groups: real vs control spinal manipulation. They will receive three intervention sessions. H1: Chronic neck pain patients treated longitudinally over a series of three encounters in one week by random assignment to treatment group with either of the dual delivery procedures (Intervention 1=typical-control or Intervention 2=control-control) will have a 50% error rate of self-report of group allocation at exit interview. H2: Patients treated by the typical-control dual procedure over a typical sequence of encounters (3 times in one week) will show statistically significant improvement in clinical outcomes; defined quantitatively by visual analogue pain scale (VAS), Neck Disability Index (NDI), range of motion and pressure algometry; compared to those treated by the control-control dual procedure. H3: Patients stratified by 'a priori' patient expectation for treatment outcome will show no significant difference in self-report of group allocation or clinical outcome measures. A total of 372 subjects will be recruited.
